Witness: Have you ever had a close friend that you could talk to, someone you could open up to any time you had a problem and he would listen?

Non-Witness: Sure, I have a friend that I have been close to since we were young at residential school.

Witness: Do you think you could have that kind of friendship with God?

Non-Witness: Interesting, I hadn’t thought of that before.

Witness: Many feel that it is not possible to have a relationship with God because he is too powerful or too far away. But is that really the case? Let’s look at the Bible for the answer. [He shows the second part of Acts 17:27, starting from the head-nod and signs “well, inform-you.”] So is it really possible to have a close relationship with God? God’s Word tells us, yes, we can be friends with him! Lesson 1 of this DVD [He shows Bible Teach—On DVD] explains more about this. Here is one for you to watch. But how can we have that close relationship with him? Can I come back another time so we can discuss the answer found in paragraph 19?

Witness: While Jesus was here on earth, he had only one group of followers. Yet, today there are many different religions that claim to follow Jesus, all with varying beliefs. How do you think this came about?

Non-Witness: That is a very interesting point. I have wondered that myself, but I do not know the answer.

Witness: The Bible tells us at Acts 20:30. [He shows the scripture.] Did you notice that it said the disciples would be drawn away by men?

Non-Witness: Yes, I saw the sign “crowd-following-person.”

Witness: This has led to different religious groups with varying beliefs. How can we know which one is the right religion? Lesson 15 of this DVD [He shows Bible Teach—On DVD] explains. If I may, I would like to return and discuss this subject further with you.
