2 After that the king went up to the house of Jehovah with all the men of Judah, all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests, and the prophets​—⁠all the people, from small to great. He read in their hearing all the words of the book+ of the covenant+ that had been found in the house of Jehovah.+

3 Jehovah continued with Je·hoshʹa·phat because he walked in the former ways of his forefather David+ and did not search for the Baʹals.

3 And he read aloud from it+ before the public square in front of the Water Gate, from daybreak until midday, to the men, the women, and all who could understand; and the people listened attentively+ to the book of the Law.
