30 And it came about on the very next day that Moses proceeded to say to the people: “YOU—YOU have sinned with a great sin,+ and now I shall go up to Jehovah. Perhaps I can make amends for YOUR sin.”+

8 But if she cannot afford* enough for a sheep, she must then take two turtledoves or two young pigeons,*+ one for a burnt offering and one for a sin offering, and the priest must make atonement+ for her, and she must be clean.’”

17 “And no other man* should happen to be in the tent of meeting from when he goes in to make atonement in the holy place until he comes out; and he must make atonement in behalf of himself+ and in behalf of his house and in behalf of the entire congregation* of Israel.+

25 And the priest must make atonement+ for the whole assembly of the sons of Israel, and it must be forgiven them; because it was a mistake,+ and they, for their part, brought as their offering an offering made by fire to Jehovah and their sin offering before Jehovah for their mistake.

7 By means of him we have the release by ransom through the blood+ of that one, yes, the forgiveness+ of [our] trespasses, according to the riches of his undeserved kindness.+

5 For there is one God,+ and one mediator+ between God+ and men,+ a man, Christ Jesus,+

17 Consequently he was obliged to become like his “brothers” in all respects,+ that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest* in things pertaining to God,+ in order to offer propitiatory+ sacrifice* for the sins of the people.+
