8 But if she cannot afford* enough for a sheep, she must then take two turtledoves or two young pigeons,*+ one for a burnt offering and one for a sin offering, and the priest must make atonement+ for her, and she must be clean.’”

20 And the priest must offer up the burnt offering and the grain offering+ upon the altar, and the priest+ must make atonement for him;+ and he must be clean.+

17 Consequently he was obliged to become like his “brothers” in all respects,+ that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest* in things pertaining to God,+ in order to offer propitiatory+ sacrifice* for the sins of the people.+
