21 Now the Caʹnaan·ite the king of Aʹrad,+ who dwelt in the Negʹeb,*+ got to hear that Israel had come by the way of Athʹa·rim, and he began to fight with Israel and carry away some of them as captives.

16 And the sons of the Kenʹite,+ whose son-in-law Moses was,*+ came up out of the city of palm trees+ with the sons of Judah to the wilderness of Judah, which is to the south of Aʹrad.+ Then they went and took up dwelling with the people.+
