3 But his father and his mother said to him: “Is there not among the daughters of your brothers and among all my people a woman,+ so that you are going to take a wife from the uncircumcised Phi·lisʹtines?”+ Still Samson said to his father: “Get just her for me, because she is the one just right in my eyes.”

26 And David began to say to the men that were standing close by him: “What will be done to the man that strikes down that Phi·lisʹtine+ over there and actually turns away reproach from upon Israel?+ For who is this uncircumcised+ Phi·lisʹtine that he has to taunt+ the battle lines of the living God?”*+
