8 In view of that Judah said to Oʹnan: “Have relations with* your brother’s wife and perform brother-in-law marriage* with her and raise up offspring for your brother.”+

6 And it must occur that the firstborn whom she will bear should succeed to the name of his dead brother,+ that his name may not be wiped out of Israel.+

20 At that Naʹo·mi said to her daughter-in-law: “Blessed be he of Jehovah,+ who has not left his loving-kindness+ toward the living and the dead.”+ And Naʹo·mi went on to say to her: “The man is related to us.+ He is one of our repurchasers.”*+

5 Then Boʹaz said: “On the day that you buy the field from Naʹo·mi’s hand, it is also from Ruth the Moʹab·i·tess, the wife of the dead man, that you must buy it so as to cause the name of the dead man to rise upon his inheritance.”+
