15 you should without fail set over yourself a king whom Jehovah your God will choose.+ From among your brothers you should set a king over yourself. You will not be allowed to put over yourself a foreigner who is not your brother.

17 And Samuel himself saw Saul, and Jehovah, for his part, answered him: “Here is the man of whom I said to you, ‘This is the one that will keep my people within bounds.’”+
