22 Do there exist among the vain idols+ of the nations any that can pour down rain, or can even the heavens themselves give copious showers?+ Are you not the One, O Jehovah our God?+ And we hope in you, for you yourself have done all these things.+
25 For instance, I tell YOU in truth, There were many widows in Israel in the days of E·liʹjah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, so that a great famine fell upon all the land,+
17 E·liʹjah was a man with feelings like ours,+ and yet in prayer he prayed for it not to rain;+ and it did not rain upon the land for three years and six months.
