13 If I had not* had faith in seeing the goodness of Jehovah in the land of those alive+—!

5 For the living are conscious that they will die;*+ but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all,*+ neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.+

8 Because of restraint* and of judgment he was taken away;*+ and who will concern himself even with [the details of] his generation?*+ For he was severed+ from the land of the living ones.+ Because of the transgression+ of my people he had the stroke.*+
