1 There happened to be a man* in the land of Uz+ whose name was Job;*+ and that man proved to be blameless+ and upright,+ and fearing God+ and turning aside from bad.+

7 The path of the righteous one is uprightness.+ You being upright, you will smooth out the very course of a righteous one.+

6 The very law of truth* proved to be in his mouth,+ and there was no unrighteousness to be found on his lips. In peace and in uprightness he walked with me,+ and many were those whom he turned back from error.+
