7 and you must inculcate them in your son+ and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down+ and when you get up.

4 Listen, O sons, to the discipline of a father+ and pay attention, so as to know understanding.+

20 Observe, O my son, the commandment of your father,+ and do not forsake the law of your mother.+

4 And YOU, fathers, do not be irritating* YOUR children,+ but go on bringing them up+ in the discipline+ and mental-regulating*+ of Jehovah.*

9 Furthermore, we used to have fathers who were of our flesh to discipline us,+ and we used to give them respect. Shall we not much more subject ourselves to the Father of our spiritual life* and live?+
