39 And David got to hear that Naʹbal had died, and so he said: “Blessed be Jehovah, who has conducted the legal+ case of my reproach+ [to free me] from Naʹbal’s hand and has kept his servant back from badness,+ and the badness of Naʹbal Jehovah has turned back upon his own head!”+ And David proceeded to send and propose to Abʹi·gail to take her as his wife.+

30 Charm may be false,+ and prettiness may be vain;+ [but] the woman that fears Jehovah is the one that procures praise for herself.+

9 Likewise I desire the women to adorn themselves in well-arranged dress, with modesty+ and soundness of mind, not with styles of hair braiding and gold or pearls or very expensive garb,+

4 but let it be the secret person*+ of the heart in the incorruptible [apparel]+ of the quiet and mild spirit,+ which is of great value in the eyes of God.
