11 To this Abraham said: “It was because I said to myself, ‘Doubtless there is no fear of God* in this place,+ and they will certainly kill me because of my wife.’+

9 And I* went on to say: “The thing that YOU are doing is not good.+ Is it not in the fear+ of our God+ that YOU should walk because of the reproach+ of the nations, our enemies?+

13 The fear of Jehovah means the hating of bad.+ Self-exaltation and pride+ and the bad way and the perverse mouth+ I have hated.

26 In the fear of Jehovah there is strong confidence,+ and for his sons there will come to be a refuge.+

7 Therefore, since we have these promises,+ beloved ones, let us cleanse+ ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit,+ perfecting holiness in God’s fear.+
