2 And for YOUR part, YOU must not conclude a covenant with the inhabitants of this land.+ Their altars YOU should pull down.’+ But YOU have not listened to my voice.+ Why have YOU done this?+

8 “Moreover, you have not heard,+ neither have you known, nor from that time on has your ear been opened. For I well know that without fail you kept dealing treacherously,+ and a ‘transgressor from the belly’* you have been called.+

21 I spoke to you during your freedom from care.+ You said, ‘I shall not obey.’+ This has been your way since your youth, for you did not obey my voice.+

10 And we have not obeyed* the voice of Jehovah our God by walking in his laws that he set before us by the hand of his servants the prophets.+

8 Neither let us practice fornication, as some of them committed fornication,+ only to fall, twenty-three thousand [of them] in one day.+
