19 And Babylon, the decoration of kingdoms,+ the beauty of the pride of the Chal·deʹans,+ must become as when God* overthrew Sodʹom and Go·morʹrah.+

14 For even they themselves, many nations and great kings,+ have exploited them as servants;+ and I will repay them according to their activity and according to the work of their hands.’”+

19 As regards Egypt, a desolate waste it will become;+ and as regards Eʹdom, a wilderness of desolate waste it will become,+ because of the violence to the sons of Judah, in whose land they shed innocent blood.+
