3 And it came about in the eighteenth year of King Jo·siʹah that the king sent Shaʹphan+ the son of Az·a·liʹah the son of Me·shulʹlam the secretary* to the house of Jehovah, saying:

22 As for the people+ left behind in the land of Judah, whom Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar the king of Babylon had left behind, he now appointed over them Ged·a·liʹah*+ the son of A·hiʹkam+ the son of Shaʹphan.+

8 And in the eighteenth+ year of his reigning, when he had cleansed the land and the house, he sent Shaʹphan+ the son of Az·a·liʹah and Ma·a·seiʹah the chief of the city and Joʹah the son of Joʹa·haz the recorder to repair+ the house of Jehovah his God.

24 Moreover, it was the hand of A·hiʹkam+ the son of Shaʹphan+ that proved to be with Jeremiah, in order not to give him into the hand of the people to have him put to death.+
