5 And the men* of Ninʹe·veh began to put faith in God,+ and they proceeded to proclaim a fast and to put on sackcloth,+ from the greatest one of them even to the least one of them.

21 “Woe to you, Cho·raʹzin! Woe to you, Beth·saʹi·da!+ because if the powerful works had taken place in Tyre and Siʹdon that took place in YOU, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes.+

41 Men of Ninʹe·veh will rise up in the judgment with this generation+ and will condemn+ it; because they repented at what Joʹnah+ preached,* but, look! something more than Joʹnah is here.

46 And so, talking with boldness, Paul and Barʹna·bas said: “It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken first to YOU.+ Since YOU are thrusting it away+ from YOU and do not judge yourselves worthy of everlasting life, look! we turn to the nations.+
