18 Why, YOU will be haled before governors and kings+ for my sake, for a witness*+ to them and the nations.

9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation+ and will kill+ YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred+ by all the nations on account of my name.+

2 Men will expel YOU from the synagogue.*+ In fact, the hour is coming when everyone that kills YOU will imagine he has rendered a sacred service* to God.+

10 Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer.+ Look! The Devil+ will keep on throwing some of YOU into prison that YOU may be fully put to the test,+ and that YOU may have tribulation+ ten days. Prove yourself faithful even to death,*+ and I will give you the crown of life.+

17 And the dragon grew wrathful at the woman,+ and went off to wage war with the remaining ones of her seed, who observe the commandments of God and have the work of bearing witness*+ to Jesus.

6 because they poured out the blood of holy ones and of prophets,+ and you have given them blood+ to drink. They deserve it.”+
