25 For whoever wants to save his soul* will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for my sake will find it.+

35 For whoever wants to save his soul* will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for the sake of me and the good news will save it.+

25 He that is fond of his soul* destroys it, but he that hates his soul+ in this world will safeguard it for everlasting life.+

24 Nevertheless, I do not make my soul* of any account as dear to me,+ if only I may finish my course+ and the ministry+ that I received+ of the Lord Jesus, to bear thorough witness to the good news of the undeserved kindness of God.+

10 Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer.+ Look! The Devil+ will keep on throwing some of YOU into prison that YOU may be fully put to the test,+ and that YOU may have tribulation+ ten days. Prove yourself faithful even to death,*+ and I will give you the crown of life.+
