16 Accordingly the king himself commanded,* and they brought Daniel and threw him into the pit of the lions.+ The king was answering and saying to Daniel: “Your God* whom you are serving with constancy, he himself will rescue you.”+

19 But during the night Jehovah’s* angel+ opened the doors of the prison,+ brought them out and said:

11 But the following night the Lord stood by him+ and said: “Be of good courage!+ For as you have been giving a thorough witness+ on the things about me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness in Rome.”+

14 Are they not all spirits+ for public service,+ sent forth to minister for those who are going to inherit+ salvation?
