19 If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own.+ Now because YOU are no part of the world,+ but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU.+

3 If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing,+

8 and “a stone of stumbling and a rock-mass of offense.”+ These are stumbling because they are disobedient to the word.* To this very end they were also appointed.+
