24 Since we have heard that some from among us have caused YOU trouble with speeches,+ trying to subvert YOUR souls, although we did not give them any instructions,+

26 in journeys often, in dangers from rivers, in dangers from highwaymen,+ in dangers from [my own] race,+ in dangers from the nations,+ in dangers in the city,+ in dangers in the wilderness, in dangers at sea, in dangers among false brothers,

4 My reason is that certain men have slipped in+ who have long ago been appointed+ by the Scriptures to this judgment,+ ungodly men,*+ turning the undeserved kindness of our God into an excuse for loose conduct*+ and proving false+ to our only Owner+ and Lord,+ Jesus Christ.
