10 Jehovah kept speaking to Ma·nasʹseh and his people, but they paid no attention.+

15 Jehovah the God of their forefathers kept warning them by means of his messengers, warning them again and again, because he felt compassion for his people and for his dwelling place. 16 But they kept ridiculing the messengers of the true God,+ and they despised his words+ and mocked his prophets,+ until the rage of Jehovah came up against his people,+ until they were beyond healing.

25 from the day your forefathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day.+ So I kept sending all my servants the prophets to you, sending them each day, again and again.*+

37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the killer of the prophets and stoner of those sent to her+—how often I wanted to gather your children together the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings! But you did not want it.+
