8 “As for you, Judah,+ your brothers will praise you.+ Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies.+ The sons of your father will bow down before you.+

10 The scepter will not depart from Judah,+ neither the commander’s staff from between his feet, until Shiʹloh* comes,+ and to him the obedience of the peoples will belong.+

3 “Those camping on the east side, toward the sunrise, will be the three-tribe division of the encampment of Judah by their companies;* the chieftain for the sons of Judah is Nahʹshon+ the son of Am·minʹa·dab.

14 So the three-tribe division of the camp of the sons of Judah departed first by their companies,* and Nahʹshon+ the son of Am·minʹa·dab was over its company.

1 After the death of Joshua,+ the Israelites* inquired of Jehovah:+ “Who of us will go up first to fight against the Caʹnaan·ites?” 2 Jehovah replied: “Judah will go up.+ Look! I am giving* the land into his hand.”
