9 “Then people will hand you over to tribulation+ and will kill you,+ and you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name.+

12 “But before all these things happen, people will lay their hands on you and persecute you,+ handing you over to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and governors for the sake of my name.+ 13 It will result in your giving a witness.

12 In fact, all those desiring to live with godly devotion in association with Christ Jesus will also be persecuted.+

10 Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer.+ Look! The Devil will keep on throwing some of you into prison so that you may be fully put to the test, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Prove yourself faithful even to death, and I will give you the crown of life.+
