11 For there will always be poor people in the land.+ That is why I am commanding you, ‘You should generously open up your hand to your afflicted and poor brother in your land.’+

5 Now the woman who is truly a widow and left destitute has put her hope in God+ and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.+

27 The form of worship* that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans+ and widows+ in their tribulation,+ and to keep oneself without spot from the world.+
