2 Thessalonians

3 Τὸ The λοιπὸν leftover (things) προσεύχεσθε, be YOU praying, ἀδελφοί, brothers, περὶ about ἡμῶν, us, ἵνα in order that ὁ the λόγος word τοῦ of the κυρίου Lord τρέχῃ may be running καὶ and δοξάζηται it may be being glorified καθὼς according as καὶ also πρὸς toward ὑμᾶς, YOU, 2 καὶ and ἵνα in order that ῥυσθῶμεν we might be drawn for self ἀπὸ from τῶν the ἀτόπων out-of-place καὶ and πονηρῶν wicked ἀνθρώπων, men, οὐ not γὰρ for πάντων of all (ones) ἡ the πίστις. faith. 3 Πιστὸς Faithful δέ but ἐστιν is ὁ the κύριος, Lord, ὃς who στηρίξει will fix firmly ὑμᾶς YOU καὶ and φυλάξει he will guard ἀπὸ from τοῦ the πονηροῦ. wicked (one). 4 πεποίθαμεν We have been persuaded δὲ but ἐν in κυρίῳ Lord ἐφ’ upon ὑμᾶς, YOU, ὅτι that ἃ what (things) παραγγέλλομεν we are charging καὶ and ποιεῖτε YOU are doing καὶ and ποιήσετε. 6 Παραγγέλλομεν We are charging δὲ but ὑμῖν, to YOU, ἀδελφοί, brothers, ἐν in ὀνόματι name τοῦ of the κυρίου Lord Ἰησοῦ Jesus Χριστοῦ Christ στέλλεσθαι to be withdrawing ὑμᾶς YOU ἀπὸ from παντὸς every ἀδελφοῦ brother ἀτάκτως disorderly περιπατοῦντος walking καὶ and μὴ not κατὰ according to τὴν the παράδοσιν tradition ἣν which παρελάβετε YOU received alongside παρ’ beside ἡμῶν. of us. 7 αὐτοὶ Very (ones) γὰρ for οἴδατε YOU have known πῶς how δεῖ it is binding μιμεῖσθαι to be imitating ἡμᾶς, us, ὅτι because οὐκ not ἠτακτήσαμεν we behaved disorderly ἐν in ὑμῖν YOU 8 οὐδὲ nor δωρεὰν free gift ἄρτον bread ἐφάγομεν we ate παρά beside τινος, of anyone, ἀλλ’ but ἐν in κόπῳ labor καὶ and μόχθῳ toil νυκτὸς of night καὶ and ἡμέρας of day ἐργαζόμενοι working πρὸς toward τὸ the μὴ not ἐπιβαρῆσαί to put weight upon τινα anyone ὑμῶν· of YOU; 9 οὐχ not ὅτι that οὐκ not ἔχομεν we are having ἐξουσίαν, authority, ἀλλ’ but ἵνα in order that ἑαυτοὺς selves τύπον type δῶμεν we might give ὑμῖν to YOU εἰς into τὸ the μιμεῖσθαι to be imitating ἡμᾶς. us. 10 καὶ And γὰρ for ὅτε when ἦμεν we were πρὸς toward ὑμᾶς, YOU, τοῦτο this παρηγγέλλομεν we were charging ὑμῖν, to YOU, ὅτι that εἴ if τις anyone οὐ not θέλει is willing ἐργάζεσθαι to be working μηδὲ neither ἐσθιέτω. let him be eating. 11 ἀκούομεν We are hearing γάρ for τινας some (ones) περιπατοῦντας walking ἐν in ὑμῖν YOU ἀτάκτως, disorderly, μηδὲν nothing ἐργαζομένους working ἀλλὰ but περιεργαζομένους· working around; 12 τοῖς to the δὲ but τοιούτοις such (ones) παραγγέλλομεν we are charging καὶ and παρακαλοῦμεν we are encouraging ἐν in κυρίῳ Lord Ἰησοῦ Jesus Χριστῷ Christ ἵνα in order that μετὰ with ἡσυχίας quietness ἐργαζόμενοι working τὸν the ἑαυτῶν of themselves ἄρτον bread ἐσθίωσιν. they may be eating.

13 Ὑμεῖς YOU δέ, but, ἀδελφοί, brothers, μὴ not ἐνκακήσητε YOU should behave badly in καλοποιοῦντες. doing fine. 14 εἰ If δέ but τις anyone οὐχ not ὑπακούει is obeying τῷ to the λόγῳ word ἡμῶν of us διὰ through τῆς the ἐπιστολῆς, letter, τοῦτον this (one) σημειοῦσθε, be YOU putting sign on, μὴ not συναναμίγνυσθαι to mix up selves with αὐτῷ, him, ἵνα in order that ἐντραπῇ· he might be turned in; 15 καὶ and μὴ not ὡς as ἐχθρὸν enemy ἡγεῖσθε, be YOU considering, ἀλλὰ but νουθετεῖτε be YOU putting mind in ὡς as ἀδελφόν. brother.

16 Αὐτὸς Very (one) δὲ but ὁ the κύριος Lord τῆς of the εἰρήνης peace δῴη may he give ὑμῖν to YOU τὴν the εἰρήνην peace διὰ through παντὸς all [time] ἐν in παντὶ every τρόπῳ. manner. ὁ The κύριος Lord μετὰ with πάντων all ὑμῶν. of YOU.

17 Ὁ The ἀσπασμὸς greeting τῇ to the ἐμῇ my χειρὶ hand Παύλου, of Paul, ὅ which ἐστιν is σημεῖον sign ἐν in πάσῃ every ἐπιστολῇ· letter; οὕτως thus γράφω. I am writing.

18 ἡ The χάρις undeserved kindness τοῦ of the κυρίου Lord ἡμῶν of us Ἰησοῦ of Jesus Χριστοῦ Christ μετὰ with πάντων all ὑμῶν. of YOU.
