From the Days of the Kings to the Rebuilding of Jerusalem

This section covers a period of some six centuries. We start with Jonathan, the son of King Saul; then we discuss David, the first truly faithful king of Israel. We come down to the time when God’s people returned from exile in Babylon and rebuilt Jerusalem. We will find encouragement in the examples of Abigail, Nathan, Elijah, Daniel, Esther, Nehemiah, and others. They faced such challenges as ruling over Jehovah’s rebellious people, coping with the sins of rulers who went astray, and standing up for the truth when God’s chosen nation drifted into apostasy and wickedness.
