42 Τῶν Of the δὲ but στρατιωτῶν soldiers βουλὴ counsel ἐγένετο became ἵνα in order that τοὺς the δεσμώτας ones in bonds ἀποκτείνωσιν, they should kill, μή not τις anyone ἐκκολυμβήσας having swum out διαφύγῃ· should flee through;
