a On November 1, 1903, following the last of a series of debates at Carnegie Hall, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., between Charles T. Russell and Dr. E. L. Eaton, one of the attending clergymen acknowledged Brother Russell’s victory, saying: “I am glad to see you turn the hose on hell and put out the fire.”
