Brother Ewins, now remarried and raising a family, had also returned to Fiji after an absence of eight years.
FIRST CONGREGATION FORMED
In September 1947 the first congregation in Fiji was officially formed in Suva. It was made up of the two missionaries, Sister Connie Clark and members of the Ewins, Heatley, Marriott and Scott families.

Brother Checksfield continued on and became very well known throughout the main island of Viti Levu. He was able to help and train the brothers, including youngsters Len Heatley and Eunice Marriott, who was only 12 years old when the missionaries arrived.
