One is Jesus Christ, “the firstborn of all creation,” who has faithfully persevered in God’s service ever since he was brought into existence at an unknown time in the past. In his persistence in serving God faithfully, Jesus became an example to all intelligent creatures who were afterward brought into existence in heaven and on earth. (Colossians 1:15, 16)

Jesus Christ also was a model of endurance. (1 Peter 2:21; compare Romans 15:3-5.)
