STUDY PROJECT
Build Trust in Jehovah’s Saving Power
Read Numbers 13:25–14:4 to see how the Israelites lacked trust in Jehovah.
Analyze the context. Why should the Israelites have had confidence in Jehovah’s ability to save them as they left Egypt? (Ps. 78:12-16, 43-53) What led to their losing trust in Jehovah? (Deut. 1:26-28) What kind of trust in Jehovah did Joshua and Caleb manifest?—Num. 14:6-9.
Dig deeper. What could the Israelites have done to increase their confidence in Jehovah? (Ps. 9:10; 22:4; 78:11) What is the connection between trusting in Jehovah and respecting him?—Num. 14:11.
Identify the lessons. Ask yourself:
‘What situations could test my complete trust in Jehovah?’
‘How can I strengthen my confidence in Jehovah now and in the future?’
‘What confidence do I have as the great tribulation approaches?’—Luke 21:25-28.
