3 Then Abraham got up from before his dead wife and he said to the sons of Heth:+ 4 “I am a foreigner and settler among you.+ Give me a property to serve as a burial place in your midst so that I may remove my dead for burial.”

28 So Isaac called Jacob and blessed him and commanded him, saying: “You must not take a wife from the daughters of Caʹnaan.+

4 And he will give to you the blessing of Abraham,+ to you and to your offspring* with you, so that you may take possession of the land where you have been living as a foreigner, which God has given to Abraham.”+

8 By faith Abraham,+ when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place he was to receive as an inheritance; he went out, although not knowing where he was going.+ 9 By faith he lived as a foreigner in the land of the promise as in a foreign land,+ living in tents+ with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the very same promise.+
