The Thing Dem Da John Write
9 When he wor passing, he saw one man who wor born blind. 2 And his disciple dem ask him: “Rabbi, da this man sin, or da his pa and his ma sin da made him to be born blind?” 3 Jesus tell them say: “Da not this man sin, and da not his pa and his ma sin made him to be born blind. But it happen so da through it people can know what God able to do. 4 Now it in the day, so we mon do the work of the Person who send me. The night coming when nobody will be able to work. 5 So long I in the world, I the light for the world.” 6 After he say this thing dem, he spit on the ground and made mud with his spit, and rub it on the man eye. 7 And he tell the man say: “Go wash your eye in the water da they call Si·lo′am” (it mean “water da come from underground”). And he went and wash his eye, and when he came back he wor able to see.
8 Then the neighbors and the people who use to see him begging before started saying: “Ehn da the man who use to sit down and be begging?” 9 Some people wor saying: “Da he the one.” Other people wor saying: “No, but he looking like him.” But the man continue to say: “Da me.” 10 Then they ask him: “So how you start seeing?” 11 He tell them say: “The man they call Jesus made something like mud and rub it on my eye, and tell me say, ‘Go wash your eye in Si·lo′am.’ So I went to wash my eye and I started seeing.” 12 When they hear this one, they ask him: “Where place the man eh?” He tell them say: “I not know.”
13 They carry the man who wor blind before to the Pharisee dem. 14 And it happen da the day da Jesus made the mud and made the man to start seeing wor on the Sabbath day. 15 So the Pharisee dem started asking the man how he start seeing. He tell them say: “He rub the mud on my eye, and I went to wash my eye, and I wor able to see.” 16 Some of the Pharisee dem start saying: “Da man not from God, because he can’t follow the Sabbath Law.” Some of them say: “How somebody who can sin will perform this kindna miracle?” Because of this, they not agree with each other. 17 And they ask the man who wor blind before: “Wetin you say about this man because da you he made to see?” The man say: “He prophet.”
18 But the Jews not believe da this man wor blind before and now he can see. So they call his ma and his pa. 19 They ask them: “Da your son here who yor say wor born blind? So how come he can see now?” 20 His ma and pa say: “We know da he our son and the time we born him, he wor blind. 21 But we not know how he start seeing, or who made him to see. Yor ask him. Da big man. He can talk for hisself.” 22 His ma and his pa say this thing dem because they wor scare of the leaders for the Jews. And da because the Jews already agree da if anybody say Jesus da the Christ, they will move da person from the synagogue.* 23 Da the reason why his ma and his pa say: “Da big man. Yor ask him.”
24 So for the second time they call the man who wor blind before and tell him say: “You mon praise God. We know da man to be sinner.” 25 He tell them say: “Me I not know if he sinner. But one thing I know, I wor blind, and now I can see.” 26 Then they ask him: “Wetin he do to you? How he made you to see?” 27 Then he tell them say: “I already na tell yor, and yor not listen to me. Why yor want hear it again? Yor want be his disciples too?” 28 So when they hear this one, they cuss him and say: “You disciple for da man, but we disciples for Moses. 29 We know da God use Moses as prophet. But for this man, we not know where he coming from.” 30 The man tell them say: “What? Yor not know where he coming from, and still he made me to see? 31 We know da God can’t listen to sinners, but if anybody get deep respect* for God and do what he want, he can listen to da person. 32 From way back, we never hear say somebody na make another person who wor born blind to see. 33 If this man wor not from God, he wor not coming to do anything.” 34 Then they tell him say: “You who wor sinner from the time they born you, da you teaching us?” Then they throw him outside!
35 Jesus hear da they throw him outside. When he saw him, he say: “You putting faith in the Son of man?” 36 The man tell him say: “Sir, who this man? Tell me so da I can put faith in him.” 37 Jesus tell him say: “You na see him, in fact, da he the one talking with you.” 38 He say: “Lord, I get faith in him.” And he bow down to him. 39 Then Jesus say: “Da because of this judgment I come in the world, so da people who can’t see can be able to see. And people who can see will turn blind.” 40 Some of the Pharisee dem who wor with Jesus hear this thing dem, and they tell him say: “You think we blind too?” 41 Jesus tell them say: “If yor wor blind, yor wor not coming get any sin. But because yor say, ‘We can see.’ God will not forgive your sin.”
