Acts (The Things the Apostle Dem Do)
4 When two of them wor still talking with the people, the priests, the big man for the people who wor taking care of the temple, and the Sadducee dem came to them. 2 They wor vex because the apostle dem wor teaching the people and telling everybody about how Jesus na come back to life. 3 So they arrest them and carry them to jail. They stay there until the next day because it wor already in the evening. 4 But plenty of the people who listen believe the thing dem they say, and the men dem da believe wor about 5,000.
5 The next day their rulers, elders, and the scribe dem came together in Jerusalem. 6 They came with An′nas the chief priest, Ca′ia·phas, John, Alexander, and all the people who wor related to the chief priest. 7 They put Peter and John in the center and started asking them: “Da who power or da who name yor use to do this thing dem?” 8 Then the holy spirit move Peter to tell them say:
“Yor who the elders and the ruler dem for the people, 9 if yor asking us because of the good thing we do for the man who wor cripple, and yor want know who make him well, 10 we want all of yor and all the people in Israel to know da in the name of Jesus Christ the Naz·a·rene′ this man standing in front of yor and he well. Yor kill Jesus on the stake but God bring him back to life. 11 Da ‘the stone da yor the builder dem refuse to use, da it na turn to the main cornerstone.’ 12 Also, God will not use different person to save us. And da because He not choose any other name from among the people on earth to save us.”
13 They saw da Peter and John wor not scare to talk. Also, they notice da they not know book* and they wor common people. Because of da, they wor really surprise, and they remember da two of them use to be with Jesus. 14 When they wor looking at the man who Peter and John heal standing among them, they wor not having anything to say to them again. 15 So they tell them to go outside the San′he·drin hall, and they started to hang head. 16 They say: “Wetin we mon do with this men dem? Because da true, they na perform this wonderful miracle. And all the people who living in Jerusalem know about it, and we can’t say da lie. 17 So let make them scare and tell them to not talk to anybody again about this name, so da this thing da happen can’t continue to spread among the people.”
18 So they call them and tell them to stop talking or teaching about Jesus name. 19 But Peter and John tell them say: “If yor think it right in God eye to listen to yor than to listen to God, yor decide for yourself. 20 But for us, we can’t stop talking about the thing dem we na see and hear.” 21 After they try to make them scare again, they free them because they not find any reason to punish them. And also because all the people wor praising God for what happen. 22 The man they heal by performing this miracle wor more than 40 years old.
23 After they free them, they went to the other disciple dem and tell them what the chief priests and the elder dem say. 24 When the disciple dem hear this one, all of them came together and pray to God with loud voice and say:
“Great Lord, da you the One made the heaven, the earth, the sea and all the thing dem da inside them. 25 And you use holy spirit to make our great grandpa David your servant to say: ‘Wetin make the nation dem to get vex and why people thinking about thing dem da not get any use? 26 The king dem for the earth na prepare theirself to fight against Jehovah* and the person he choose to be the Christ, and the ruler dem na come together to go against them.’ 27 And for true-true, Herod, Pontius Pilate, the people dem from other nations, and the people dem from Israel came together in this city to go against your holy servant Jesus, who you choose. 28 They came together to do what you say way back, because you get the power, and because da how you wanted it to happen. 29 Jehovah,* please listen to all the thing dem they saying to make us scare. And help your slave dem to be brave to continue talking about your word, 30 as you continue to use your power to heal people, and use the name of your holy servant Jesus to perform miracles and do wonderful thing dem.”
31 And after they really pray to God with their whole heart, the place they wor eh shake. And holy spirit came on all of them, and they wor not scare to talk about God Word.
32 Also, the plenty people who believe the message wor thinking and feeling the same way,* and not even one of them say the thing dem he get wor for his one. But they share everything da they wor having. 33 And the apostle dem continue to preach da the Lord Jesus na come back to life and they wor really successful. And God really bless all of them. 34 In fact, everybody among them wor having what they need. And da because all the people who wor having lands and house dem use to sell them and bring the money. 35 They use to give the money to the apostle dem. Then the apostle dem use to share the money on each of them depending on what they need. 36 So Joseph who the apostle dem also use to call Bar′na·bas (it mean, “Somebody who can encourage other people”), wor Levite from Cy′prus. 37 He wor having one land, and he sell it and give the money to the apostle dem.
