The Thing Dem Da John Write
11 One man name Laz′a·rus wor sick. He wor from Beth′a·ny, the village where Mary and her sister Martha wor living. 2 Da the same Mary who put perfume oil on the Lord and dry his foot with her hair. Da her brother Laz′a·rus wor sick. 3 So his sister dem send message to Jesus, and tell him say: “Lord, see! the person who you really love sick.” 4 But when Jesus hear it, he say: “The end of this sickness da not for Laz′a·rus to die, but to bring praise to God and the Son of God.”
5 Jesus use to love Martha, her sister Mary and Laz′a·rus. 6 But when he hear da Laz′a·rus wor sick, he stay to the place he wor eh for two more days. 7 After da he tell his disciple dem say: “Yor let go back to Ju·de′a.” 8 The disciple dem ask him: “Rabbi, not too long the people in Ju·de′a wanted to chunk you with rock, then you want go there again?” 9 Jesus tell them say: “They get 12 hours in the day time, ehn da true? If anybody walk in the day time, he can’t stomp his foot on anything because he can see the light da in this world. 10 But if anybody walk in the night, he will stomp his foot on something because the light not in him.”
11 After he say this thing dem, he say: “Our friend Laz′a·rus sleeping, but I going there to wake up him.” 12 The disciple dem tell him say: “Lord, if he sleeping, he will get well.” 13 Jesus wor talking about how Laz′a·rus na die. But they wor thinking da he wor talking about real sleep. 14 Then Jesus make it clear to them and say: “Laz′a·rus na die. 15 I happy da I wor not there because the thing I going do will make yor faith strong. Yor let go to him.” 16 So Thomas who they can call the Twin, tell the other disciple dem say: “Yor let go too, so we can die with him.”
17 When Jesus reach there, he got to know da Laz′a·rus na stay in the grave for four days. 18 Beth′a·ny wor not far from Jerusalem. It wor like two miles* from there. 19 And plenty of the Jews came to Martha and Mary to comfort them for their brother who na die. 20 When Martha hear da Jesus wor coming, she went to see him, but Mary stay to the house. 21 Then Martha tell Jesus say: “Lord, if you wor here, my brother wor not coming die. 22 But even now I know da anything you pray to God for, God will give it to you.” 23 Jesus tell her say: “Your brother will come back to life.” 24 Martha tell him say: “I know he will come back to life in the last day, the time the people dem who na die will come back to life.” 25 Jesus tell her say: “Da me can bring people back to life and da me can give people life. The person who show faith in me, even if he die, he will come back to life. 26 And everybody who living and show faith in me will never die. You believe it?” 27 She tell him say: “Yes Lord. I believe da you the Christ, the Son of God, the person da coming in the world.” 28 When she say this one, she went to call her sister Mary, and she talk in her ear and say: “The Teacher here and he calling you.” 29 When she hear it, she get up quick-quick and went to him.
30 By da time Jesus not reach to the village yet, but he wor still to the place where Martha saw him. 31 Some of the Jews dem wor in the house with Mary comforting her. When they saw her getting up quick-quick to go outside, they follow her. Because they wor thinking da she wor going to the grave to cry. 32 When Mary reach to the place Jesus wor eh and saw him, she kneel down in front of him and tell him say: “Lord, if you wor here, my brother wor not coming die.” 33 When Jesus saw she and the Jews dem da came with her crying, he feel it deep inside him* and his heart spoil. 34 He ask them: “Where place yor put him?” They tell him say: “Lord, come see.” 35 Jesus started crying. 36 When the Jews dem saw this one, they started saying: “See the kindna strong love he get for him!” 37 But some of them say: “Jesus made the blind man to see. So yor not think he wor able to do something to stop this man from dying?”
38 Then after Jesus show da the thing really hurt him bad way, he came to the grave. In fact, da wor cave, and one big rock wor covering the mouth. 39 Jesus say: “Yor move the rock.” Then Martha who brother die tell him say: “Lord, by now his body will be smelling because four days na pass.” 40 Jesus tell her say: “Ehn I tell you da if you believe you will see the power God get?” 41 So they move the rock from there. Then Jesus look up to heaven and say: “Father, I want tell you thank you because you na hear my prayer. 42 I know you can always hear me, but I say this one because of the people da standing around me, so da they can believe da you send me.” 43 When he finish saying this thing dem, he shout with loud voice and say: “Laz′a·rus, come outside!” 44 The man who na die came outside, his two foot, his hands and his face wor wrap with cloth. Jesus tell them say: “Yor loosen the cloth from on him and let he go.”
45 So plenty of the Jews dem da came to Mary put faith in Jesus because they saw the thing dem he na do. 46 But some of them went to the Pharisees and tell them all the thing dem Jesus na do. 47 So the chief priests and the Pharisees call everybody who wor member of the San′he·drin and have meeting. Then they say: “Wetin we will do because this man performing plenty miracles? 48 If we allow him to continue doing this thing dem, all the people will put faith in him. And the Roman government will come and take our temple and our country from us.” 49 But one of them who name wor Ca′ia·phas, wor high priest da year. He tell them say: “Yor not know anything. 50 Yor not know da yor will benefit if one man die for the people, than for the whole nation to be destroy?” 51 He not say this one on his own, but because he wor high priest da year, he prophesy da Jesus wor coming die for the whole nation. 52 And not only for the nation but also to bring God children dem da scatter all over together in one group. 53 So from da day they started looking for way to kill him.
54 So Jesus stop traveling to the place where people will see him. But he went to the area near the wilderness, to one city they call E′phra·im. And he stay there with his disciple dem. 55 The Passover for the Jews wor near. And plenty people from the village dem went to Jerusalem before the Passover to clean theirself just how Moses Law say. 56 They wor looking for Jesus. And when they wor standing around in the temple area, they wor talking among theirself and they wor saying: “What you think? He will come to the festival or he will not come?” 57 But the chief priests and the Pharisee dem tell the people say: “If anybody know where Jesus eh, they mon tell us so we can arrest him.”
