Acts (The Things the Apostle Dem Do)
15 Some men dem came down from Ju·deʹa and started to teach the brother dem. They say: “If yor not obey Moses Law and get circumcise, yor can’t be save.” 2 But Paul and Barʹna·bas not agree with them. And after they argue for some time, the brother dem decide to send Paul and Barʹna·bas and some of the other people to the apostles and elder dem in Jerusalem to tell them about the problem.
3 So after the congregation carry them half way, this men dem continue traveling and they pass through Phoe·niʹcia and Sa·marʹi·a. They explain everything about how people from other nations na accept the good news. And it make all the brother dem really happy. 4 When they reach Jerusalem, the congregation, the apostles and the elder dem welcome them. Then Paul and Barʹna·bas tell them about the plenty thing dem God na help them to do. 5 But some of the people who accept the good news and who use to be Pharisees before, stand up and say: “It important to circumcise them and tell them to obey Moses Law.”
6 So the apostles and the elder dem came together to talk about this problem. 7 After they talk about this problem good-good, Peter stand up and tell them say: “My people, my brother dem, yourself yor know da long time ago God choose me among yor to tell the people dem from different nations about the good news and help them to believe it. 8 And God, who know the heart, show da he accept them by giving them holy spirit, just how he give it to us too. 9 And he not show da we different from them, but he clean their heart because they get faith. 10 So why yor testing God by putting heavy load on the disciple dem, something da our great grandpa dem or we ourself wor not able to carry? 11 But we get faith da God na save us through the special kindness of the Lord Jesus just like them.”
12 When they hear this one, everybody stop talking, and they started listening to Barʹna·bas and Paul. Barʹna·bas and Paul wor telling them about the plenty miracles and the wonderful thing dem God na help them to do among the people from other nations. 13 After they finish talking, James say: “My people, my brother dem, yor listen to me. 14 Symʹe·on* na explain good-good about how God for the first time pay attention to the nation dem to take people from among them who will get his name. 15 And the thing the Prophet dem write agree with this one, just how the Scripture say: 16 ‘After this thing dem, I will come back and build David house da fall down. I will build it again and make it the way it wor looking before, 17 so da the people who remain can worship Jehovah* from their hearts, together with people from all the nations, and this people dem get my name. Da Jehovah* say this one and da he doing this thing dem. 18 People know this thing dem from way back.’ 19 So I not think it good to give hard time to people from different nations who na turn to God, 20 but let write them to stay away from things da na get dirty by false gods, from sexual immorality,* from animal dem da they kill without cutting the throat, and from blood. 21 Long time ago, people preach about Moses from city to city, because they can read the thing dem he write loud in the synagogues on every sabbath day.”
22 Then the apostles, the elder dem, and the whole congregation, choose some men from among them to send to Antioch. They send Judas who they call Barʹsab·bas, and Silas with Barʹna·bas and Paul. Judas and Silas wor taking the lead among the brother dem. 23 They write this letter and tell them to carry it. It say:
“From your brothers, the apostles and the elder dem, to the brother dem in Antioch, Syria, and Ci·liʹcia who from the other nation dem: We tell yor hello! 24 We hear da some people from here came to yor and give yor hard time with the thing dem they say. They try to fool yor, even though we not tell them anything. 25 We na come to one decision to choose men to send to yor with Barʹna·bas and Paul who we really love. 26 This men dem na give their life* for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We also sending Judas and Silas, so they can also tell yor this same thing dem. 28 The holy spirit na help us to not add any load on yor but to pay attention to this important thing dem: 29 to continue to stay away from thing dem they sacrifice to false gods, from blood, from animal dem da they kill without cutting the throat, and from sexual immorality.* If yor continue to stay away from this thing dem, things will be alright with yor. Yor bye-bye!”
30 So when this men dem left from there, they went down to Antioch, and they bring the whole group together and give them the letter. 31 When they finish reading it, they wor really happy because the thing dem they hear encourage them. 32 Judas and Silas wor also prophets, so they give plenty talks to encourage the brother dem and help them to be strong. 33 After they spend some time there, the brother dem tell them safe journey and they went back to Jerusalem. 34* —— 35 But Paul and Barʹna·bas stay in Antioch and they wor teaching. Also, they and plenty other people wor preaching the good news about Jehovah* Word.
36 After some time pass, Paul tell Barʹna·bas say: “Let go back to all the city dem da we preach about Jehovah* Word to see how the brother dem doing.” 37 Barʹna·bas really wanted to carry John who they call Mark with him. 38 But Paul not agree to carry him with them because he left them in Pam·phylʹi·a and he not follow them to do the work. 39 So Paul and Barʹna·bas got vex bad way with each other, and they started making serious palaver. Because of da, they separate from each other. And Barʹna·bas carry Mark with him and got in the ship and went to Cyʹprus. 40 After the brother dem pray for Jehovah* to take care of Paul, he choose Silas and they left from there. 41 Paul went through Syria and Ci·liʹcia, and continue to make the congregation dem strong.
