Acts (The Things the Apostle Dem Do)
28 When we reach and nothing happen to us, we got to know da the island name wor Malta. 2 And the people dem da wor living there* really treat us good. They light fire and they welcome all of us because the rain wor falling and the place wor really cold. 3 But when Paul take some wood and put it in the fire, one snake came out because of the heat and wrap around his hand and bite him. 4 When the people dem saw the snake da get poison hanging on Paul hand, they started telling each other say: “For true-true this man can kill people, even though he not die in the sea, he will not continue to live because da his punishment* he getting.” 5 But Paul shake his hand and the snake fall down in the fire and nothing happen to him. 6 But they wor expecting him to get swell up or just fall down and die. After they wait for long time and see da nothing bad happen to him, they change their mind and started saying da he wor god.
7 The leader for da place wor having plenty land in da area. His name wor Pubʹli·us, and he welcome us and take care of us good-good for three days. 8 And Pubʹli·us pa wor laying down on the bed because he wor having fever and his stomach wor running bad way. So Paul went inside to him and pray. He put his hand on him, and heal him. 9 After this one happen, all the other people on the island who wor sick started coming to him so he can heal them. 10 They also give us plenty gifts. And when we wor getting in the ship to go, they give us all the thing dem we need, and they put it in the ship.
11 After three months, we travel with one ship da wor having the sign, “Sons of Zeus.” The ship came from Alexandria and it spend the cold season on the island. 12 When we reach to the place they can park ship in Syracuse, we stay there for three days. 13 We left from there and went to Rheʹgi·um. After one day, breeze wor blowing from the south and we wor able to reach to Pu·teʹo·li the next day. 14 We saw the brother dem there and they tell us to stay with them for seven days. And from there we started going to Rome. 15 When the brother dem from Rome hear about us, they came all the way to the market da in Apʹpi·us and the place they call Three Taverns* to meet us. When Paul saw them, he tell God thank you and it really encourage him. 16 In the end, we enter Rome, they allow Paul to stay by hisself with one soldier man to mind him.
17 But after three days, he call the leader dem for the Jews together. When they came, he tell them say: “My people, my brother dem, even though I not do anything bad to the people or against our great grandpa dem traditions, they arrest me in Jerusalem and give me to the Roman people as prisoner. 18 And after they ask me some question dem, they wanted to free me because they not see any reason for them to kill me. 19 But when the Jews dem not agree, I wor force to ask Caesar to judge my case. But I not do it because I wor having anything to talk against my country. 20 Da the reason why I say I want see yor and talk with yor. I get this chain around me because of the hope da Israel get.” 21 They tell him say: “We not get any letter from Ju·deʹa about you, and all the brother dem da came from there not say anything bad about you. 22 But we think da it will be alright for us to hear what you get to say, because to say the truth, we know da people all over talking against this new kindna religion da you part of.”
23 So they choose one day to come to him. And the people dem who came to him to the place he wor staying wor plenty pass the people dem he call first. And from in the morning to in the evening, he explain to them by preaching good-good about God Kingdom to make them to believe in Jesus. He use Moses Law and the thing dem the prophet dem say to convince them. 24 Some of them started believing the thing dem he say, but some of them not believe it. 25 So because they not agree with each other, they started moving from there. Then Paul say:
“The holy spirit wor correct when it use the prophet Isaiah to talk to yor great grandpa dem. 26 It tell him say, ‘Go to the people and tell them say: “Yor will hear but yor will not understand anything, and yor will look but yor will not see anything. 27 Because this people heart na get hard like rock, they can hear but they can’t do anything. They close their eyes so da they will never see with it. And they close their ears so da they can’t hear and understand the meaning and allow it to touch their heart so da they can come back for me to heal them.”’ 28 So I want yor to know da the message about how God will save people na go to the nation dem. And to tell yor the truth, they will listen to it.” 29* ——
30 So he stay there for two years in the house he wor renting and he use to welcome everybody who come visit him. 31 He use to preach to them about God Kingdom and teach them about the Lord Jesus Christ. And he really use to feel free to talk to them and nothing use to stop him.
