The Thing Dem Da John Write
19 Then Pilate give the order for them to take Jesus and flog him. 2 Then the soldier people dem use thorns to fix crown and put it on his head. And they put one purple gown on him. 3 And they continue coming to him and they wor saying: “Hello, King for the Jews!” And they continue slapping his face. 4 Pilate went outside to them again and tell them say: “See! I bring this man outside to yor so yor can know da I not see any bad thing he na do.” 5 So Jesus came outside with the thorn-thorn crown on his head and with the purple gown on him. Then Pilate tell them say: “See! The man!” 6 But when the chief priests and the officer dem saw him, they started shouting: “Kill him on the stake! Kill him on the stake!” Pilate tell them say: “Yor take him and go kill him yourself because I not see anything bad da he na do.” 7 But the Jews tell him say: “We get one law, and from what da law say he suppose to die because he say he God son.”
8 When Pilate hear the thing dem they wor saying, he got scare bad way, 9 and he enter the house* again and ask Jesus: “Where place you coming from?” But Jesus not answer him. 10 So Pilate tell him say: “You not want answer me? You not know da I get the power to free you and I get the power to kill you?” 11 Jesus tell him say: “You wor not going to get any power over me if God wor not coming agree. Da the reason why the man who give me to you, his sin big pass your own.”
12 Because of this one, Pilate wor trying to find way to free him, but the Jews wor shouting: “If you free this man, you not Caesar friend. Anybody who make theirself king, they talking against Caesar.” 13 Then after Pilate hear this thing dem, he carry Jesus outside. And he sit down on the judgment seat to the place they can call Stone Pavement, but in Hebrew, they can call it Gab′ba·tha. 14 Da day wor the day for them to prepare for the Passover. It wor around 12 o’clock in the day. And he tell the Jews say: “See! Your king!” 15 But they shout and say: “Take him from here! Take him from here! So you can kill him on the stake!” Pilate ask them: “I mon kill your king?” The chief priest dem say: “We not get any other king beside Caesar.” 16 Then he give Jesus to them so they can kill him on the stake.
So they carry Jesus. 17 Jesus wor carrying the torture stake* for hisself, and they went to the place they call Skull Place, in Hebrew they call it Gol′go·tha. 18 They nail him on the stake with two other men dem. One person on the left and the other person on the right, and Jesus wor in the center. 19 Pilate also write one title and put it on the torture stake.* He write on it: “Jesus the Naz·a·rene′, the King for the Jews.” 20 Plenty of the Jews wor able to read this title because the place where they nail Jesus on the stake wor near the city. They write it in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. 21 But the chief priests for the Jews tell Pilate say: “Don’t write, ‘The King for the Jews,’ but write da he say, ‘I the King for the Jews.’” 22 Pilate tell them say: “The thing I na write, I will not change it.”
23 When the soldier people finish nailing Jesus on the stake, they take his other clothes he can wear on top and divide it in four parts and each of them take one. And they also take the clothes he wor wearing under. But the clothes he wor wearing under wor not join together because from the up part of the clothes to the down part da wor one cloth. 24 So they tell each other say: “We mon not tear it, but let throw dice* to know who will take it.” This one happen so da the thing the scripture say can come to pass: “They share my clothes among theirself, and they throw dice for my clothes.” So the soldier people really do this thing dem.
25 But Jesus ma and her sister Mary who wor Clo′pas wife, and Mary Mag′da·lene wor standing near his torture stake.* 26 So when Jesus saw his ma and the disciple who he love standing near, he tell his ma say: “Woman, see! Your son!” 27 Then he tell the disciple say: “See! Your ma!” And from da time, the disciple carry her to his house.
28 After this one, when Jesus knew da he finish doing all the thing dem his Father tell him to do, he say: “I thirsty.” He say this one so da the thing the scripture say can come to pass. 29 They wor having one jar there da wor full up with sour wine. So they soak sponge* with sour wine on the stick and put it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus taste the sour wine, he say: “I na do all the thing dem my Father tell me to do!” Then he bend his head down, and he die.
31 It wor the day for them to prepare for the Sabbath. And the Jews never wanted for the dead body dem to stay on the torture stakes on the Sabbath Day (because da Sabbath day wor special). So the Jews tell Pilate so they can break their foot and take the body dem from there. 32 So the soldier people came and break the two men dem foot who wor on the stake side Jesus. 33 But when they reach to Jesus, they saw da he already finish dying, so they not break his foot. 34 But one of the soldier people juke the spear on Jesus side, and right away blood and water came outside. 35 And the person who see this thing dem talk about it, and the thing he say da true. And he know da what he say da true, so da yor can believe it too. 36 In fact, this thing dem happen so da the thing the scripture say can come to pass: “They will not break any of his bone.” 37 And in another place, the scripture say: “They will look to the person who they juke.”
38 After all this thing dem happen, Joseph who wor from Ar·i·ma·the′a went to Pilate and ask him so he can carry Jesus body. He wor one of Jesus disciples but he never wanted people to know because he wor scare of the Jews. So Pilate agree, and he came and carry Jesus body. 39 Then Nic·o·de′mus, the man who went to Jesus in the night the first time also came. He bring myrrh and aloes da they mix together* and it wor weighing about 100 pounds.* 40 So they wrap Jesus body in linen cloths with the perfume oil on it, just how the Jews use to do when they burying somebody. 41 And they wor having one garden to the place where they kill Jesus, and one new grave wor in da garden where they not bury anybody before. 42 Because da the day the Jews wor preparing for the Sabbath and the grave wor not far off, they bury Jesus body there.
