The Governing Body Get Two New Members

DURING the annual meeting on October 5, 2024, they make one special announcement. They appoint Brother Jody Jedele and Jacob Rumph to serve on the Governing Body of Jehovah Witnesses. Two of dem been faithful to Jehovah for plenty years now.

Brother Jedele wor born in Missouri in America and he grow up in the truth. He and his family wor living in one territory where people not use to preach fast-fast. So because of da one, he get to know plenty brother and sister dem who use to come from different-different place to help dem preach in da territory. The love the brother and the sister dem wor having among theirself and the way they wor united really touch his heart. So he get baptize on October 15, 1983. He use to enjoy preaching. So after he finish high school, he start regular pioneering in September 1989.

When Brother Jedele wor young, his ma and pa use to carry he and his small sister to go visit Bethel. This one encourage the children to want serve in Bethel, and da just what they do. They invite Brother Jedele to Wallkill Bethel in September 1990. The first place he work da wor in the Cleaning Department. Then later on, he start working in Medical Service.

During da time, the Spanish congregation around him wor growing and they wanted brother dem to help. So Brother Jedele join one of the congregation and he start learning Spanish. It not stay long, he meet one sister name Damaris who wor pioneering in da same circuit. After sometime, they get marry and she join him to serve in Bethel.

In 2005, they leave Bethel to go take care of their parents. During da time they wor serving as regular pioneers. Brother Jedele use to help to teach the pioneer school. And he serve on the Hospital Liaison Committee and the Regional Building Committee.

In 2013, they invite Brother Jedele and his wife back to Bethel to work on the Warwick construction project. Since da time, they been working to Patterson and Wallkill. And Brother Jedele also na work with the Local Design/Construction Department (LDC), and the Hospital Information Services. Then in March 2023, they appoint him to be helper to the Service Committee. When he think about all this assignment dem, he say: “When you get new assignment, sometime you can be scare. But da the time you suppose to rely on Jehovah because he able to make us do anything he want us to do.”

Jacob Rumph and his wife, Inga

Brother Rumph wor born in California in America. The time he wor small, his ma wor inactive. But she try her best to teach him the truth from the Bible. And every year, he use to go visit his grandma who wor serving Jehovah faithfully. She help him to know more about the Bible. So when he wor 13 years old, he ask for somebody to study the Bible with him. And he get baptize on September 27, 1992. He wor happy to see his ma active in the truth again. He wor also happy to see his pa, his small brother and small sister study the Bible and get baptize.

The time Brother Rumph wor young, he use to see how the pioneer dem wor happy. So after he finish high school, he start pioneering in September 1995. Then in 2000, he move to Ecuador where they wor not having plenty publisher to preach. And da the place he meet one pioneer sister from Canada name Inga. Then it not stay long they get marry. After they get marry, they serve in one town in Ecuador da wor not having plenty publisher. But now-now, they get plenty publishers.

After sometime they appoint Brother and Sister Rumph as special pioneer. Then later on, they start serving in the circuit work. In 2011 they invite dem to the 132nd class of Gilead. After their graduation, they serve in different-different country dem around the world. They also enjoy different-different assignment dem like, serving in Bethel, the missionary work, and the circuit work. Brother Rumph wor also able to teach the School for Kingdom Evangelizers.

But because of the COVID-19 sickness, Brother and Sister Rumph went back to America. And they invite dem to Wallkill Bethel where they train Brother Rumph to serve in the Service Department. After sometime, they assign dem back to Ecuador where Brother Rumph wor serving on the Branch Committee. In 2023, they assign dem to Warwick. Then in January 2024, they appoint Brother Rumph to be helper to the Service Committee. When he think about all the assignment dem he na get, he say, “It not the place da make your assignment to be special, but da the people you working with.”

We really value the hard work this brother dem doing and we “keep holding men of that sort dear.”—Phil. 2:29.

Now-now, da 11 anointed brother dem on the Governing Body, and their name dem da: Kenneth Cook, Jr.; Gage Fleegle; Samuel Herd; Geoffrey Jackson; Jody Jedele; Stephen Lett; Gerrit Lösch; Jacob Rumph; Mark Sanderson; David Splane; and Jeffrey Winder.
