Be Humble Like Jehovah

1. Wetin touch your heart about the way Jehovah humble?

WHEN you think about people who in power today, you can think about them to be humble people? No way. Even though Jehovah da almighty God, but he humble. (Ps. 113:​5-8) Nobody humble like Jehovah. In fact, he never act proud before and he will never act proud. In this article, we will talk about four good-good way dem Jehovah get. And we will see how each of this way dem show da Jehovah really humble. We will also see how Jesus wor humble like his pa. And this one will help us to draw more close to Jehovah and be humble like him.

JEHOVAH MAKE IT EASY FOR US TO BE FREE WITH HIM

2. Wetin Psalm 62:8 tell us about Jehovah? (Also see the picture.)

² It hard to be free with proud people. Most of the time, proud people can treat other people bad because they can feel da they better pass other people. But Jehovah not looking like da! Because Jehovah our heavenly Father humble, he make it easy for us to tell him anything da on our heart. (Read Psalm 62:8.) Just how good father can be ready to listen to his children when they want tell him something, da the same way Jehovah can be ready to listen to us when we pray to him. In fact, he put plenty prayer from his servant dem in the Bible. This one just show da Jehovah really want hear our prayer. (Josh. 10:​12-14; 1 Sam. 1:​10-18) But suppose it not easy for us to pray to Jehovah because we feel da we na make plenty mistakes?

3. Why we can be sure da Jehovah want for us to pray to him all the time?

³ We mon pray to Jehovah even if we feel da he not love us. Why we say this one? In Jesus story about the son da lost, he compare Jehovah to one good father who son make plenty mistake. The son wor thinking da his pa will not accept him back in the family. But wetin the pa do when his son come back home? Jesus say da by the time his pa see him coming, “he run and hug him and kiss him.” (Luke 15:​17-20) Jehovah just like da father. When we worrying or feeling bad about the mistake we make and we pray to him, he can listen to us good-good because he humble. (Lam. 3:​19, 20) Jehovah can feel sorry for us. And it can be just like he run to us to comfort us and encourage us da he love us. (Isa. 57:15) How Jehovah can “run to us” today? Most of the time he can do it by using the elders, our family member and friend dem who serving him to encourage us. (Jas. 5:​14, 15) Jehovah can do this one because he want us to be close to him.

4. Why it wor easy for people to talk with Jesus?

⁴ Jesus can follow his Pa example. Jesus humble just like his Pa. Because of da, people use to feel free to talk with him and even ask him question. (Mark 4:​10, 11) And when he use to ask them how they feel about certain thing, they will tell him just what in their heart. (Matt. 16:​13-16) Also when they use to make mistakes, they not use to be scare da Jesus will get vex with them. And da because they know Jesus wor kind, merciful, and patient. (Matt. 17:​24-27) Because Jesus follow his Pa example, it help his disciple dem to know Jehovah good-good. (John 14:9) They learn from Jesus da Jehovah humble and he want be close to them. And he wor not looking like their religious leader dem who wor harsh, proud and wor not even having time for them.

5. When we humble, how it can make it easy for people to come around us?

⁵ How we can follow Jehovah example? When we learn how to be humble, it will make it more easy for people to be free with us. If we not humble, we can be jealous, feel da we better pass other people and it can be hard for us to forgive. Like da, people will not want come around us. But when we humble, it will help us to be kind to people, be patient with them, and forgive them. This quality dem can make it easy for people to come around us. (Col. 3:​12-14) The Elder dem mon make it easy for the brother and sister dem to be free around them. For them to do this one, they mon try to spend plenty time with the brother and sister dem. So they mon always try to attend the meetings in person, instead of joining on zoom all the time. And they mon also try to preach with the brother and sister dem from house-to-house when it possible. It will help the brother and sister dem to know the elder dem good-good. Like da they will feel free to talk with the elder dem anytime they need help.

JEHOVAH REASONABLE

6-7. Give examples da show how Jehovah wor willing to change his mind when his servant dem pray to him.

⁶ Proud people can always think da they know plenty, so they not reasonable or they can’t want change their mind. But Jehovah who know everything not looking like da. Because he humble, he willing to listen to other people and even change his mind. For example, Miriam and Aaron complain about their brother Moses. But it wor wrong because Moses use to talk for Jehovah. So we can say da Jehovah the one Miriam wor really complaining against. Because of da, Jehovah get vex with Miriam bad way and make her to get leprosy. But then Aaron beg Moses to help her. So Moses beg Jehovah to make her well. Wetin Jehovah do? If Jehovah wor proud, he wor not coming change his mind. But because he humble, he listen to Moses and make Miriam well.—Num. 12:​1-15.

⁷ Jehovah also show da he humble when he listen to King Hezekiah. Through the prophet, Jehovah tell the king da he wor coming die. Hezekiah cry and beg Jehovah to heal him. Jehovah listen to Hezekiah and add 15 more years to his life. (2 Ki. 20:​1, 5, 6) Yes, because Jehovah humble, it can make him to feel sorry for people and listen to them.

8. Give examples da show da Jesus can feel sorry for people and listen to them. (Mark 3:​1-6)

⁸ Jesus can follow his Pa example. When Jesus wor on earth, he do good-good things for people when he wor able to do it, instead of just sticking to the Law. This one show da he reasonable. For example, he heal people on the Sabbath day even though the religious leader dem wor thinking da nobody suppose to do it. (Read Mark 3:​1-6.) Today, Jesus directing the congregation. But the way he can do it show da he can feel sorry for people and listen to them. For example, when somebody in the congregation commit serious sin, he can be patient with them. He can give them enough time so they can change their way.—Rev. 2:​2-5.

9. How we can show da we reasonable in the way we can think and act? (Also see the pictures.)

⁹ How we can follow Jehovah example? We mon learn from Jehovah how to be reasonable in the way we can think and act. (Jas. 3:17) For example, parents who can follow Jehovah example will not expect their children dem to do something da they not able to do. Jacob set good example for parents on how to do this one. (Genesis 33:​12-14) Parents mon not also compare one child with the other child. The elder dem too mon be reasonable. For example, one elder will not want force his idea on his friend dem. But he will support the thing da most of the other elder dem decide to do if it not against what the Bible say. (1 Tim. 3:​2, 3) And all of us mon try to understand how other people think and feel about certain thing even if we not think or feel the same way. (Rom. 14:1) So everybody in the congregation mon try to let their “reasonableness become known to all men.”—Phil. 4:5.

JEHOVAH PATIENT

10. How Jehovah na show da he patient?

¹⁰ Maybe you na see da proud people not like it when other people make them to wait. Because they proud, they not patient. But da not how Jehovah looking. He patient more than everybody! For example during Noah time, Jehovah say da he wor coming wait for 120 years to pass before he can destroy the wicked people. (Gen. 6:3) So Noah wor having plenty time to bring his children up and for he and his family to build the ark. After some time, Jehovah decide to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. But when Abraham ask him question about it, he wor patient with him and listen to him. If da somebody who proud they wor coming say, ‘Da you suppose to tell me what to do?’ But because Jehovah humble, he wor patient with Abraham.—Gen. 18:​20-33.

11. According to 2 Peter 3:​9, why Jehovah patient today?

¹¹ Jehovah also patient with us today. He waiting for the time he na set to destroy this wicked world. Why he patient? “Because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” (Read 2 Peter 3:9.) You think Jehovah patience in vain? No! Because he patient, plenty people who get good heart na draw close to him. And we get the hope da plenty people will still draw close to him. But his patience will not be forever. Jehovah love people, but he will not allow them to continue to do anything they want do. He will end wickedness.—Hab. 2:3.

12. How Jesus na show da he patient like Jehovah?

¹² Jesus can follow his Pa example. For plenty years now, Jesus na show da he patient just like Jehovah. For example, Jesus na see Satan talking plenty lie-lie things about Jehovah and his faithful servant dem. (Gen. 3:​4, 5; Job 1:11; Rev. 12:10) Jesus na also see people suffering because of the plenty bad-bad thing dem da can happen. So we know da Jesus really want “break up the works of the Devil”! (1 John 3:8) Why Jesus able to wait until Jehovah tell him to destroy all the thing dem da the Devil na do? One reason da because Jesus humble. He know da Jehovah the one who suppose to decide what time to destroy this world.—Acts 1:7.

13. How Jesus wor patient with his apostle dem and why?

¹³ When Jesus wor on earth, he wor also patient with his apostle dem. For example, the apostle dem use to argue over and over about who wor more important pass their friend. Jesus not get vex or give up on them. But he wor patient with them. (Luke 9:46; 22:​24-27) Why? Because he wor sure da after some time they wor coming change. You na make one mistake over and over too? If so, ehn you grateful to get King who humble and patient?

14. Wetin will help us to be more patient?

¹⁴ How we can follow Jehovah example? For us to think and act like Jehovah, we mon know how “Christ can think.” (1 Cor. 2:16) Wetin will help us to know how Christ can think? This one not get no shortcut. We mon always read the Bible book dem da talk about Jesus life. Then we mon take time to think good-good on what Jesus do and why he do it. We mon also ask Jehovah to help us to be patient and humble just like Jesus. When we learn how to think like Jesus, da the more we will be able to follow God example to be patient with ourself and with our brother and sister dem.—Matt. 18:​26-30, 35.

JEHOVAH VALUE HUMBLE PEOPLE

15. Give example da show da Jehovah value humble people? (Psalm 138:6)

¹⁵ Read Psalm 138:6. Even though Jehovah da the Most High, he really value people who humble! Let talk about some people who other people use to overlook, but Jehovah still value them. Maybe plenty people not know some of them, but Jehovah talk about them in the Bible. For example, Deborah wor faithful servant to Isaac and Jacob family for almost 125 years! The Bible not talk plenty about this faithful woman. But Jehovah make Moses to write some thing dem about her da show da Jacob, his family and Jehovah really value her. (Gen. 24:59; 35:​8, ftn.) After plenty years, Jehovah choose one young shepherd boy to be king in Israel. (2 Sam. 22:​1, 36) Right after they born Jesus, Jehovah send one angel to some humble shepherd dem. Jehovah honor them by letting them to be the first to know da they na born the Messiah in Bethlehem. (Luke 2:​8-11) Jehovah also show da he value Simeon and Anna who wor old. He do it by allowing them to see his son when Joseph and Mary carry him to the temple. (Luke 2:​25-30, 36-38) Yes, even though Jehovah da the Most High, he really value humble people!

16. How Jesus use to treat people just like his Pa?

¹⁶ Jesus can follow his Pa example. Jesus use to value humble people just like his Pa. He use to teach people who “not know book and common people” about God Kingdom. (Acts 4:13; Matt. 11:25) Jesus also use to heal sick people. And he use to do it in the way da show da he love them and respect them. (Luke 5:13) On the night before he die, he do something da only servant can do. He wash his apostle dem foot. (John 13:5) And before he go back to heaven, he show da he value all his disciple dem way back and his servant dem da living now-now by giving them the most important work to do. And da the preaching work da helping people to get everlasting life.—Matt. 28:​19, 20.

17. How we can show da we value other people? (Also see the picture.)

¹⁷ How we can follow Jehovah example? We can show da we value people when we preach the good news to everybody. We can preach to them no matter where they come from, their skin color or whether they know book or they not know book. And we can value our brother and sister dem when we not take ourself to be better pass them, even if we get certain privilege da they not get or we able to do certain thing da they not able to do. (Phil. 2:3) Jehovah can be happy when we humble and value each other like this and in other way dem.—Rom. 12:10; Zeph. 3:12.

18. Why you want be humble like Jehovah?

¹⁸ When we try our best to be humble like our heavenly Father, it will make it easy for people to come around us, and we will be more reasonable and patient. We will also show da we value other people like Jehovah. When we try our best to be like our God who humble, da the more he will value us!—Isa. 43:4.
