“Why It Good to Be Humble?”

w00 9/15 29-30

Jehovah Feel Sorry for Josiah Because he Was Humble

It was in the morning, the people started working hard on the temple. Josiah was grateful to Jehovah that the workers were fixing the damage his wicked family people who were living way back did to Jehovah house. While the work was going on, Shaphan brought information to him. He came with one roll of paper in his hand. He said that High Priest Hilkiah found “the book of Jehovah’s law by the hand of Moses.” (2 Chronicles 34:12-18) Surely, that was the original, or first copy of the Law!

Josiah really wanted to hear what was inside the book. When Shaphan was reading it, Josiah started seeing how all the law them apply to him and the people. But what really touch his heart was the way the book focus on true worship and the punishment that will come if they put their hand in false religion. As soon Josiah know that the people were not doing the thing them in the book, he tear his clothes. Then he tell Hilkiah, Shaphan, and the other people say: ‘Yor go ask Jehovah about all the thing them inside this book because Jehovah vex with us bad way. Our people them way back not listen to the thing them Jehovah say.’—2 Kings 22:11-13; 2 Chronicles 34:19-21.

Josiah messenger them go to one prophet woman in Jerusalem they call Huldah. She tell them all the troubles that Jehovah talk about in the book that was found, will happen to the Israelite them who turn their back on true worship. But because Josiah humble himself, he will not see all this trouble them during his life time. He will die and they will bury him in peace.—2 Kings 22:14-20; 2 Chronicles 34:22-28.

You Can Be Successful No Matter How They Bring You Up

Even though it was not easy for Josiah when he was coming up, he still obey Jehovah. His rulership was so successful that the Bible say, “Like him there did not prove to be a king prior to him who returned to Jehovah with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his vital force, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him has there risen up one like him.”—2 Kings 23:19-25.

Josiah example can really encourage people who were not having good parents when they were coming up! Wetin we can learn from his example? What help Josiah to choose the right way to live and keep living like that?

Zephaniah prophecy help young Josiah to know why it was really important to move false worship from Judah. But Josiah was not able to stop all the wickedness the people were doing. And what Josiah did was not enough for Jehovah to forgive the wicked thing them his grandpa Manasseh did, like killing innocent people in Jerusalem. (2 Kings 24:3, 4; 2 Chronicles 34:3) So nothing was going to stop Jehovah judgement from coming.

It was in 607 B.C.E. when Zedekiah was in the 11th year of his kingship in Jerusalem. King Nebuchadnezzar from Babylon surrounded Jerusalem for 18 months. In the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar rule, on the seventh day of the fifth month, Nebuchadnezzar send his chief body guard they call Nebuzaradan to Jerusalem. (2 Kings 25:8) It look like Nebuzaradan put his camp outside the city wall and started looking at all that was happening in the city and planning how to attack the people. “The Bible That True Story Book”

w09 9/1 14 ¶1

You Think Adam and Eve Were Real People?

Just think about the Jewish people family records in First Chronicles chapters 1 to 9 and Luke chapter 3. The record in First Chronicles 1 to 9 talk about 48 generations and Luke chapter 3 talk about 75 generations. Luke list the family line of Jesus, while Chronicles give information about the family line of the kings and priest them in Israel. The two record them list the name of well-known people like Solomon, David, Jacob, Isaac, Abraham, Noah, and finally Adam. All the name them that on these two lists was for real-real people who were living way back. And Adam was the first real person on each list.

w08 6/1 3 ¶4

The Heavy Rain That Fall in Noah Day That True Story

Two accounts in the Bible about family line prove that Noah was real person. (1 Chronicles 1:4; Luke 3:36) Ezra and Luke who wrote this information them really check good-good. Luke list Jesus family line all the way back to Noah.

w09 9/1 14-15

You Think Adam and Eve Were Real People?

Plenty people who can go to church get deep respect for the Bible teaching about the ransom. According to this teaching, Jesus gave his perfect human life as ransom to save people from their sins. (Matthew 20:28; John 3:16) We know that the ransom, that equal price that someone can pay to free something or buy something back. That the reason why the Bible describe Jesus as “a corresponding ransom.” (1 Timothy 2:6) Maybe you thinking, corresponding, or equal to what? The Bible say: “Just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive.” (1 Corinthians 15:22) The perfect life that Jesus gave to free obedient human from sin and death, equal to the prefect life that Adam lost in the garden of Eden when he sin. (Romans 5:12) So it clear that if Adam was not real human being, then Jesus ransom sacrifice was coming to be for nothing.

Genealogy

Names of Women. Sometime they use to put some women them name in the record of the family line when they get good reason for keeping it in history. For example, they put Sarai (Sarah) name in Genesis 11:29, 30 because that through her the promise seed was suppose to come. And that not through any other wife Abraham was going to get. Also, they put Milcah name in this same verse because she was Rebekah grandma. And Rebekah was Isaac wife. This one show that her family line coming from Abraham relatives, since Isaac was not suppose to marry woman from different nations. (Ge 22:20-23; 24:2-4) But why they put Keturah name in Genesis 25:1? That because after Sarah die, Abraham marry again and he was still able to born children even after 40 years from the time Jehovah perform miracle for him to have child. (Ro 4:19; Ge 24:67; 25:20) It also show the relationship that Midian and other Arabian tribes were having with Israel.

We can find Leah, Rachel, and Jacob other women them and their sons names inside the Bible. (Ge 35:21-26) It help us to understand how God use their sons later on. That the same reason why we can find other women them name in the family line record. If they will take over the family property, then they can write their name inside the Bible. (Nu 26:33) But Tamar, Rahab, and Ruth case was really different. For each of them, they were having good reason for putting their name in the family line of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. (Ge 38; Ru 1:3-5; 4:13-15; Mt 1:1-5) Other places we can find women name in the family line record that in 1 Chronicles 2:35, 48, 49; 3:1-3, 5.

“Wetin My Prayers Can Say About Me?”

w10 10/1 23 ¶3-7

The “Hearer of Prayer”

Jabez use to like praying. He use to start his prayer by asking for God blessing. The three things he ask God for show that he really get faith.

First, Jabez beg God, saying: ‘make my land big.’ (Verse 10) This honest man was not asking God because he was greedy or wanted to take other people land by force. He was begging because he was having more interest in people than the land. Maybe he was asking Jehovah to get more land peacefully, so that plenty people can come worship the true God.

Second, Jabez beg for God “hand” to be with him. God hand here mean the power Jehovah can use to help his worshippers. (1 Chronicles 29:12) For him to get answer to his prayer, Jabez turn to the God who hand not short to help people who put faith in him.—Isaiah 59:1.

Third, in Jabez prayer he say: ‘safe me from trouble so that it can’t hurt me.’ The expression “so that it can’t hurt me”, not mean that Jabez was praying, so that he can’t face any problem. But he was praying so that the problem them can’t overcome him because of the wickedness that was all around him.

The way Jabez pray show that he was concern for true worship and he was having faith and trust in the hearer of prayer. How Jehovah answer Jabez? This short account end with the words: ‘God gave him everything he ask for in prayer.’

w12 11/15 6 ¶12-13

“Teach Me to Do Your Will”

12 David show that he was thankful for the principles he saw in the Law and he really wanted to live by them. He set good example for us to follow. Think about what happen when David said he really wanted to drink water from the cistern or water tank in Bethlehem. Three of his men them force their way inside the city to get water for David to drink. And the Philistines were there. But David refuse to drink the water and he waste it on the ground to Jehovah. Why? David explain: “It is unthinkable on my part, as regards my God, to do this! Is it the blood of these men that I should drink at the risk of their souls? For it was at the risk of their souls that they brought it.”—1 Chron. 11:15-19.

13 David knew from the Law that blood must be waste on the ground to Jehovah and nobody must eat it. He also understand the reason why they must do it like that. David knew that “the soul of the flesh is in the blood.” But somebody will say, that water, that not blood. So why David refuse to drink it? David understand the principle behind the law. To David, the water was looking important just like the three men them blood. So David knew that it was not correct to drink the water. Instead of drinking it, he decided to waste it on the ground.—Lev. 17:11; Deut. 12:23, 24.

Let God Laws and Principles Train Your Conscience

5 To benefit from God laws, we must not just read it or know it good-good, but we must learn to love and respect them. The Bible say: “Hate what is bad, and love what is good.” (Amos 5:15) But how we can really do it? The best way, that for us to learn to see things the way Jehovah can see them. For example: Let say you finding it hard to sleep. Your doctor say you must change some things in your life, like the type of food you can eat, and take exercise. After you follow the doctor advice, and see that it working for you, you will be too grateful to your doctor for helping you to improve your life. Not so?

6 That the same way our creator na gave us laws that can make our life better and protect us from the problem them that can come because of sin. Just think about how we can benefit when we follow the Bible advice about lying, tricky behavior, stealing, man and woman business, violence, and medicine business. (Read Proverbs 6:16-19; Rev. 21:8) When we experience the plenty blessings that can come from doing things Jehovah way, it can make our love for Jehovah and his laws to be strong and we can be thankful to him.

Heart

Serving With “Your Whole Heart.” For the real human heart to work good-good, everything on it must be correct. But our figurative heart can be divided. That why David pray to Jehovah saying: “Unify my heart to fear your name.” It show that somebody heart can be divided in the way they show love for God and fear him. (Ps 86:11) That kind na person can be halfhearted, not worshiping God with their whole heart. (Ps 119:113; Re 3:16) Somebody can also get “double heart” (meaning to get two heart). It can also mean trying to serve two masters, or lying to people while thinking on different thing. (1Ch 12:33; Ps 12:2, ftn) Jesus strongly condemn people who were pretending and having double heart.—Mt 15:7, 8.

Anybody who want make God happy must not serve with half heart or double heart. But they must serve him with their whole heart. (1Ch 28:9) We need to fight hard because our heart can want fool us to do bad things. (Jer 17:9, 10; Ge 8:21) Wetin will help us to continue serving Jehovah with our whole heart? We must pray from our heart, (Ps 119:145; La 3:41), study the Bible every day (Ezr 7:10; Pr 15:28), preach the good news with zeal (compare Jer 20:9), and make friend with people who serving Jehovah with their whole heart.—Compare 2Ki 10:15, 16.
