Help Other People to Endure When They Going Through Problems

“Do not withhold good from those to whom you should give it if it is within your power to help.”—PROV. 3:27.

SONG 103 Shepherds—Gifts in Men

WETIN WE COMING LEARN?a

1. Most of the time, how Jehovah can answer his people prayers?

YOU know that Jehovah can use you to answer somebody prayer? Whether you elder, ministerial servant, pioneer, or congregation publisher, you able to help. Whether you young or old or you brother or sister, you also able to help. When someone who love Jehovah pray to him for help, most of the time our God can use the elders and other faithful servant them to be “a source of great comfort” to that person. (Col. 4:11) We too happy to serve Jehovah and our brother them in that way! We can comfort our brother them during disaster, persecution or when sickness spreading.

HELP OTHER PEOPLE WHEN SICKNESS SPREADING

2. Sometime, why it can be hard to help other people when sickness spreading?

2 When sickness break out, it can make it hard for us to help each other. For example, maybe we want visit our friend them, but no way because it not safe. Maybe we want invite other people that catching hard time to come eat with us, but it not possible. Maybe we want help other people but when we see our own family suffering, it can be hard to help. But still we want help our brothers, and Jehovah can be happy when we do our best to help them. (Prov. 3:27; 19:17) Wetin we can do?

3. Wetin we learn from the example of the elder them in Desi congregation? (Jeremiah 23:4)

3 What the elder them can do. If you elder, try to know the publisher them good-good. (Read Jeremiah 23:4.) In the article before this one, we talk about one sister called Desi. She say, “The elders in my field service group can always work with me and other publishers in field service and they can join us to enjoy ourselves together.”b This one make it more easy for the elder them to help Desi when COVID-19 started and when some of her family member pass away because of the virus.

4. Why the elder them were able to help Desi, and wetin we can learn?

4 Desi say, “Because me and the elder them were already friendly, it was easy for me tell them anything I was worrying about.” Wetin elders can learn from this? Know the people under your care before any serious problem come. Make them your friend. If any sickness start that stopping you from visiting the brother and sister them, look for other ways to get in touch with them. Desi say, “Sometime different-different elders use to call me or sent me message on the same day. The scripture them they read to me touch my heart, even though I knew them good-good.”

5. How the elder them can know what the brothers and sisters need, and how they can help them?

5 One way to know what your brothers and sisters need, that to ask question that will not embarrass them. (Prov. 20:5) Find out if they get enough food, medicine, and other things. Check whether they seeing any sign that they will lose their job or even their living place. If it possible in your country, ask the person whether they need help from the government. The brother and sister them help Desi with some material things. But the way the elder them show her love and the way they encourage her from the Bible, really help her to go through her problems. She say: “The elder them pray with me. Although I can’t remember the exact things they said, I can still remember how I was feeling. It was like Jehovah was saying, ‘You not by yourself.

The brother who conducting happy to hear plenty people giving encouraging comment in the meeting and he also happy to see one sick brother who connected on zoom (See paragraph 6)

6. What plenty people in the congregation can do to help other people? (See the picture.)

6 Wetin other people can do. We right to expect the elder them to be the first to help. But Jehovah want all of us to encourage and help our brother and sister them. (Gal. 6:10) Even if we do something small to help someone who sick, it can really encourage them. Small child can write or draw things and send it to encourage any brother. Young person can help to go in the market or do something for any sister. Maybe other people in the congregation can cook food for somebody that sick and carry it to their house. We know that when sickness spread all over, everybody in the congregation need encouragement. Maybe we can spend small time after the meeting to talk with the brother and sister them who in meeting or on zoom. The elder them need encouragement too. Some brother them can write thank you letter to the elder them who can be doing plenty work for us when sickness start spreading. So it can be good when we do our part to “keep encouraging one another and building one another up!”—1 Thess. 5:11.

HELP OTHER PEOPLE DURING DISASTER

7. Wetin can happen to some people after disaster?

7 Disaster can just change people life quick and they can’t be expecting it. Some people can lose material thing them, their place they living can spoil or even their relative and friend them can die. These bad-bad things can also happen to our Christian brothers and sisters. Wetin we can do to help?

8. Wetin elders and family heads must do before disaster happen?

8 What the elder them can do. The elders must help the brother them to be ready before bad things happen. They must make sure that everybody in the congregation know what to do to be safe and how to contact the elder them. Margaret, who we talk about in the article before this one say: “Our elder them gave one local needs part. They advise us that wild fire can still happen any time in our area. They said that in case the government say we must move from our house or if the situation get worse, we must try and move from there quick-quick.” The brother them gave that talk the right time because after five weeks pass, one wildfire started that was dangerous. Family heads can use family worship to talk about what each person in the family must do. If you and your children prepare, then yor will not be too scary when bad thing happen.

9. How the elder them can work together before and after disaster happen?

9 If you group overseer, make sure that you get everybody in your group correct phone numbers and the place they living before disaster happen. Write them down and make sure they always correct. Then when disaster or something bad happen, you will be able to contact each publisher and know wetin they need. Give this information to the coordinator of the body of elders right away then he will tell the circuit overseer. When these brother them work together, they can really be able to help. After the fire, Margaret circuit overseer never slept for 36 hours. He was busy helping the elder them so they can be able to take care of the 450 displace brothers and sisters. (2 Cor. 11:27) So they help find place for all those who were not having place to stay.

10. Why shepherding important to the elder them? (John 21:15)

10 Part of the elder them work that to encourage their brothers and sisters from the Bible and help those that worrying. (1 Pet. 5:2) When bad thing happen, the elders must first make sure that each brother and sister safe and that they get food, clothes and place to live. But after some months, those who survive will still need encouragement from the Bible. (Read John 21:15.) One Branch Committee Member name Harold na meet plenty brothers and sisters who disaster na happen to. He say, “It can take time to get over it. Sometime they can start getting over it, but when they remember how someone die from them, how some of their important thing spoil or how they almost die, it can make them feel bad. Then, they can start grieving again. This one not mean they not get faith, but it normal to feel like that.”

11. Wetin families will always need?

11 Elders can apply the counsel that say “weep with those who weep.” (Rom. 12:15) They can help comfort those who went through disaster to know that Jehovah and their Christian brothers still love them. They will help families to continue doing things like praying, studying, preaching and going to meetings. Elders can also encourage parents to help their children focus on thing them that disaster can’t destroy. Parents, help your children to remember that Jehovah will always be their Friend and that he will always help them. And explain to them that they will always be having brothers and sisters all over the world who  ready to help them. 1 Pet. 2:17.

The couple bringing food and other thing them to one mother and her young son who staying somewhere for short time.

You willing to help after disaster happen in your area? (See paragraph 12)e

12. Wetin other brothers can do to help with disaster relief work? (See the picture.)

12 Wetin other brothers can do. When bad thing happen near your area, ask the elder them how you can help. Maybe you can help those who displace or those who helping with disaster relief work to stay in your house for some time. Maybe you can help to carry food and other thing them the publishers need. You can still help if the disaster happen far off from your area. How? By praying for those who went through it. (2 Cor. 1:8-11) Also, you can help support the relief work by putting money in the contribution box for worldwide work. (2 Cor. 8:2-5) If you able to go to where the bad thing happen, ask the elder them what you can do to help. If they invite you to help, maybe you will get training so that you can be able to help the best way.

HELP THE BROTHER THEM BEAR PERSECUTION

13. Wetin some of our brother them going through?

13 In countries where the government stop our work, persecution can really make things hard. Brothers who living in those countries can still get sick, people can still die from them and they can still find it hard to get money. But because they stop our work, it can be hard for the elder them to go visit those that discourage. That what happen to Andrei, who we talk about in the article before this one. Money business was rough on one sister in his field service group. Then she was involve in car accident. She suppose to go under different-different operations, so she was not able to work. Even though the government stop our work and the corona virus sickness was spreading, the brothers try their best to help, and Jehovah knew what was happening.

14. How elders can set the example to rely on Jehovah?

14 Wetin the elder them can do. Andrei pray and did his best. How Jehovah answer him? Jehovah use other brothers and sisters in the congregation who were having more freedom to be able to help her. Some of them carry her to the hospital for treatment. Other people gave her money. Jehovah use them to do their best and he bless their effort. (Heb. 13:16) When the government stop our work, the elders must ask other brothers to help. (Jer. 36:5, 6) The most important one that, elders must rely on Jehovah. He can help you to take care of our brother and sister them.

15. How we can remain united when we going through persecution?

15 What other people can do. When they stop our work, some time we will have to meet in small-small groups. So it important for us to get peace among ourselves now-now. We must fight Satan, not each other. Overlook your brother and sister them mistake, or try to settle any problems quick-quick. (Prov. 19:11; Eph. 4:26) Be willing to help each other. (Titus 3:14) The publishers who were in her field service group benefited from the help that the other brothers and sisters gave her. Because of that, they became close like family.—Ps. 133:1.

16. According to Colossians 4:3, 18, how we can help our brother and sister them who going through persecution?

16 Plenty of our brother and sister them serving Jehovah even though the government na stop some of our work. Some of them in jail because they serving Jehovah. We can pray for them and their families. We can also pray for those who get the courage to help our brother them that in jail even though it risky. These brother them can encourage their brothers in jail to trust Jehovah, defend them in court and gave them the things they need.c (Read Colossians 4:3, 18.) Never forget that your prayers can help all these brother and sister them!—2 Thess. 3:1, 2; 1 Tim. 2:1, 2.

How you can prepare your family now-now for persecution? (See paragraph 17)

17. How you can prepare now-now for persecution?

17 You and your family can prepare now-now for persecution. (Acts 14:22) Don’t try to imagine all the bad-bad thing them that will happen. But make your friendship with Jehovah strong and help your children do the same thing. Sometime if you worrying, tell Jehovah everything in your heart. (Ps. 62:7, 8) You and your family must talk about all the reasons why yor can trust him.d The same way it can help your children when you prepare for disaster, that the same way it will help them if you prepare them for persecution. It will help them to be brave and not to worry too much.

18. Wetin we expecting in the future?

18 The peace from God can protect us. (Phil. 4:6, 7) Jehovah can use it to make our heart to come down when we going through sickness, disasters, and persecution. He can use hardworking elder them to encourage us. And he can give all of us the opportunity to help one another. The peace we enjoying now-now will help us to be prepare for any kind na problem that will come in the future, even the “great tribulation.” (Matt. 24:21) At that time, we must not worry and we must help other people to do the same thing. But after that time, we will not face any serious problem that will make us to worry. We will finally enjoy what Jehovah always been having in mind for us, the real peace that will last forever.—Isa. 26:3, 4.
