LESSON 97
Kɔniilia Gala Na Gaa-Ɓai Maa Zɔlɔ-Woni
One important Roman army officer wor in Caesarea and his name wor Cornelius. Even though he wor not Jew, but the Jews use to respect him. He wor free handed and he use to help poor people and people that wor in need. Cornelius believe in Jehovah and use to pray to him all the time. One day, one angel appear to Cornelius and say: ‘God na hear your prayer. Send men dem now-now to the city they call Joppa, the place Peter living, and tell him to come to you.’ Right away, Cornelius send three men dem to Joppa, about 30 miles to the south.
In the meantime, Jehovah made Peter to see one vision in Joppa. He see animal dem that the Jews not suppose to eat. Then he hear one voice and the voice tell him to eat. Peter refuse, and say: ‘But In my whole life, I not eat any animal that unclean before.’ The voice tell him say: ‘Don’t call this animal dem unclean. God already na made them clean.’ The voice also tell Peter say: ‘Three men dem to your door. Go with them.’ Peter go to the door and ask the men dem why yor here? They tell him say: ‘That the Roman army officer, they call Cornelius send us. You have to go with us to his house in Caesarea.’ Peter tell the men dem to come in his house and spend the night there. The next day, he and the men dem went to Caesarea. And some brothers from Joppa go with them.
When Cornelius finally see Peter, he kneel down. But Peter tell him say: ‘Get up! I human being just like you. God tell me to come to your house, even though the Jews can’t enter in the Gentile people house. Now please tell me why you send for me.’
Cornelius tell Peter say: ‘Four days ago I wor praying to God, and one angel tell me to send for you. Please teach us about Jehovah.’ Peter say: ‘I na learn that God can’t pick and choose. He can accept anybody who want worship him.’ Peter teach them plenty things about Jesus. Then Jehovah holy spirit come on Cornelius and the people who wor there with him, and all of them get baptize.
