Yee La Jehova Ma Ga E E Ɣaa-Nɛkpɛ
“Gala laa-ma-lɛ. . . de ɣeea nii é ga maa-wõi-ɣaa ɣeeai. Towa é ga gaa-nɛkpɛ mazii ɣaazɔ-wo Galagi.”—2 KƆL. 1:3.
WHAT THE MAIN POINT?
Lessons we can learn from the way Jehovah comfort the Jews who wor slaves in Babylon.
1. Tei Dusiitiɛ tɛ lɛ ɣɛni te ɓɔɔ yui zu zɛɓɛi tɔ levesu
THINK about how the Jews wor feeling when they wor slaves in Babylon. They saw how their home wor destroy. Because of their sins and their great-grandfather dem sins, Jehovah allow the Babylonians to carry them in Babylon as slaves. (2 Chron. 36:15, 16, 20, 21) That true, they wor having some freedom in Babylon to do their normal thing dem. (Jer. 29:4-7) But life wor not easy, and it wor not the kindna life they wanted. How they wor feeling about their situation? Notice what one faithful Jew who wor in Babylon say: “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat. We wept when we remembered Zion.” (Ps. 137:1) The Jews really needed comfort, but who wor coming comfort them?
2-3. (a) Zɛɓɛi Jehova kɛɛni Dusiitiɛ vɛ siɛgi ma tɛ lɛ ɣɛni te ɓɔɔ yui zu? (b) Faa taniga ta ga zɛɓɛ de vaazu yɛpɛzu e vile ba kɔlɔ zɛvɛi nii zu?
2 Jehovah that “the God of all comfort.” (2 Cor. 1:3) Because Jehovah love his people, he can be happy to comfort them. Jehovah know that some of the Jews who wor in Babylon wor coming repent and serve him the right way again. (Isa. 59:20) So more than 100 years before they carry the Jews in Babylon, Jehovah tell the prophet Isaiah to write the book that get his name. For what reason? Isaiah say: “‘Comfort, comfort my people,’ says your God.” (Isa. 40:1) Yes, Jehovah use what the prophet write to comfort the Jews when they wor slaves in Babylon.
3 Like the Jews who wor in Babylon, we too need comfort from time to time. In this article, we will talk about three ways that Jehovah comfort the Jews who wor in Babylon: (1) He promise to forgive anybody who repent, (2) he gave his people hope, and (3) he help them to not be scary. When we talking about this three points, see how Jehovah can comfort us the same way today.
GAAZU MA WÕI-ZO ƔALAGI JEHOVA ƔA DE ZU-VAA-YƐ
4. Jehova dɛɛni ɣɛ le ga towa numaa ɣaazu maa-wõi-zo? (Isaiah 55:7)
4 Jehovah that “the Father of tender mercies.” (2 Cor. 1:3) He show that quality when he promise to forgive the Jews in Babylon who wor coming repent. (Read Isaiah 55:7.) He say: “With everlasting loyal love I will have mercy on you.” (Isa. 54:8) How Jehovah wor coming show mercy? Even though the whole nation wor still coming suffer and stay in Babylon for plenty years because of the bad decisions they made, Jehovah promise that they wor not coming stay in Babylon forever. (Isa. 40:2) What Jehovah say really comfort and encourage the Jews who repent!
5. Zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ de wuuzu ɣaa nɛɛ Jehova na gaazu ma wõi ɣai ʋaa ma e leve Dusiitiɛ va?
5 What the lesson? Jehovah willing to forgive his servants altogether. Today, we get more reason pass the Jews to be convince that Jehovah can forgive. Why? Because we know what Jehovah na do to forgive our sins. Plenty years after Isaiah gave this prophecy, Jehovah send his Son who he really love to the earth to die for everybody who repent. Because Jesus die, our sins can be “blotted out”or erase altogether. (Acts 3:19; Isa. 1:18; Eph. 1:7) Our God really merciful!
6. Ani da ɣaazu ɓadona Jehova na gaazu ma wõi ɣai va da wulo ɣɛ le su-nu-ma? (Wɛlɛ ɓalaa footei va)
6 Isaiah 55:7 can comfort us when we always feeling guilty. Sometime after we repent, some of us can still be feeling guilty because of the mistake we made before. This one can happen especially when we still suffering because of the mistake we made. But if we confess our sins and stop doing the wrong things, we can be sure that Jehovah na forgive us. And when Jehovah forgive us, he can decide to not remember our sin again. (Compare Jeremiah 31:34.) So if Jehovah can’t think about the mistake we made before, we too must not be thinking about it. What important to Jehovah, that the thing dem we doing now-now, and not the mistake dem we made before. (Ezek. 33:14-16) And our merciful Father will soon free us from any suffering we going through because of our mistakes.
What important to Jehovah that the thing dem we doing now-now, and not the mistake dem we made before (See paragraph 6)
7. Zɛɓɛi ya kɛ de da ʋaa yowũi wo kuuwu wũ-tuo veaitiɛ ma ga te ɓɔ de va?
7 Wetin we must do if our conscience beating us because we commit serious sin and trying to hide it? The Bible encourage us to ask the elder dem to help us. (Jas. 5:14, 15) But it can’t be easy for us to tell them about what we na do. But, if we repent and remember that the elder dem love us and they can show us mercy just like Jehovah, it will make us to tell them the truth. Let look at the example of how Jehovah use the elder dem to comfort one brother name Arthura who wor feeling guilty about the wrong thing he do. Arthur say: “For more than one year, I use to look at naked man and naked woman picture or video. But after I listen to one talk about the conscience, I confess my sin to my wife and the elder dem. After that, I wor feeling free, but I wor still feeling guilty about the thing I do. The elder dem remind me that Jehovah not forget about me yet. He can correct us because he love us. The thing the elder dem say really touch my heart, and it help me to change the way I wor thinking.” Now-now, Arthur that regular pioneer and ministerial servant. It can really encourage us to know that when we repent, Jehovah always ready to forgive us!
JEHOVA KI-TO FEEVƐ DE YA
8. (a) Ki-to sɛɓɛi Jehova feeni Dusiitiɛ ya? (b) E ɣɛ velei Isaiah 40:29-31 boga la, Dusii niitiɛ te wulu ɣaa ʋeni ta ʋaa yowũitiɛ va ki-togi nii ɓɔni te va ɣɛ le
8 Maybe the Jews wor thinking that they will never be free from Babylon. It wor hard for the Babylonians to free their slaves. (Isa. 14:17) But, Jehovah gave his people hope. He promise that he wor coming free his people, and nothing wor coming stop him. (Isa. 44:26; 55:12) In Jehovah eye, Babylon wor looking just like dust. (Isa. 40:15) If you blow breeze on the dust, everything will just scatter. How this hope wor coming help the Jews who wor in Babylon? It wor coming comfort them. But it wor coming do more than that. Isaiah say: “Those hoping in Jehovah will regain power.” (Read Isaiah 40:29-31.) Yes, this hope wor coming gave them strength and they wor coming “soar on wings like eagles.”
9. Zɛɓɛi ɔ kɛɛ Dusiitiɛ tɔ la ga ki-togitiɛ Jehova feeni te ya?
9 Jehovah also gave the Jews reason to trust in his promise dem. How? Think about the prophecy dem that wor already fulfill. For example, they knew that the Assyrians na capture the ten-tribe kingdom of Israel and carry the people to Assyria. (Isa. 8:4) They saw how the Babylonians destroy Jerusalem and carry the people to Babylon. (Isa. 39:5-7) They knew that the king of Babylon made King Zedekiah blind and carry him to Babylon. (Jer. 39:7; Ezek. 12:12, 13) Everything that Jehovah say happen. (Isa. 42:9; 46:10) All this thing dem help to make their faith more strong that the promise Jehovah made to free them, wor also coming happen!
10. Zɛɓɛi ya ɓɔ de va ga de da ɣi-togi zuɓaa ŋetea ɣaa-ɓela foloi nii zu?
10 What the lesson? When we feeling bad, our hope for the future can comfort us and give us strength. We living in the world where things continue to get worse, and people who not like God business continue to go against us. But we must not be discourage. Jehovah promise that we will live forever in paradise. We will be save and enjoy true peace. We must continue to focus on our hope. Or else, our hope will start getting weak. It will be just like we looking at one fine land but we can’t see the beauty because we looking at it through dirty window glass. So how we can “clean the window,” that mean to make our hope strong? Every day, we must take time to think about how our life will be wonderful in the new world. We can read publications, watch videos, and listen to songs that talk about our hope. And we can pray to Jehovah about all the thing dem we really want see happening in the new world.
11. Zɛɓɛi e ɓɔsu de ɣaa yɔwɔ̃i Joy va ga e gaa-ɓaa maa zɔlɔwo?
11 Let talk about one sister name Joy, who going through serious health problems. Her hope comfort her and gave her strength. Joy say: “When I feeling bad, I can tell Jehovah how I really feeling, because he know what I going through. During that time, Jehovah can give me ‘the power beyond what is normal.’” (2 Cor. 4:7) Joy also use to imagine herself in the new world, where “nobody will say: ‘I sick.’” (Isa. 33:24) If we tell Jehovah everything that in our heart and focus on our hope, we will get strength to bear any problem.
12. Zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ da laala ga ki-togi niitiɛ Jehova feea de ya ta vaa ɣɛɛzu? (Wɛlɛ ɓalaa footei va.)
12 Just like the Jews in Babylon, Jehovah na also give us plenty reasons to trust that he will do all the thing dem he promise. Think about the prophecy dem that na come true. For example, we seeing the world power that “partly strong and partly fragile.” (Dan. 2:42, 43) We can also hear about “earthquakes in different-different areas,” and we can preach to people from “all over the world.” (Matt. 24:7, 14) The way this prophecy dem and the other one dem na fulfill, convince us that all the things Jehovah promise will come true.
The way the prophecy dem fulfilling today convince us that all the thing dem Jehovah na promise will come true (See paragraph 12)
JEHOVA ƔA DE ƔAA-NƐKPƐ
13 Jehovah gave the Jews who wor in Babylon wonderful hope. But he knew that when the time come for him to free them, they wor still going to face some problems. Jehovah say when the time come for him to free the Jews, one powerful king wor coming destroy the nations around Babylon, and then attack Babylon. (Isa. 41:2-5) You think the Jews suppose to worry? Plenty years before it happen, Jehovah comfort his people. He say: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God.” (Read Isaiah 41:10-13.) Wetin Jehovah mean when he say “I am your God”? He wor not reminding the Jews to worship him, because they already know that they suppose to do it. But he wor reminding them that he wor still on their side.—Ps. 118:6.
14. Zɛɓɛi wɔnɔ Jehova kɛɛni ga e dusiitiɛ ɣaa-nɛkpɛ?
14 Jehovah also help the Jews in Babylon to not be scary, by reminding them about the kindna power and wisdom he get. He tell the Jews to look at the stars. He tell them that he not only make the stars, but he even know all the star dem name. (Isa. 40:25-28) If Jehovah know each of the star dem name, then he know each of his servant dem name too! And if Jehovah get the power to make the stars, then for sure he get the power to help his people. Yes, the Jews in Babylon wor not having any reason to be scary.
15. Jehova dusiitiɛ ɣavele ɓɛtɛni ɣɛ le niitiɛ ʋaa ma te ɣɛni va ɣɛɛzu?
15 Jehovah also prepare his people for all the thing dem that wor coming happen. In the beginning part of the book of Isaiah, God tell his people: “Enter your inner rooms, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for a brief moment until the wrath has passed by.” (Isa. 26:20) Maybe this prophecy wor first fulfill when King Cyrus capture Babylon. One Greek man who study history way back say when Cyrus enter Babylon, he “tell [his soldier dem] to kill anybody they see outside.” Just imagine how the people in Babylon wor scary! But maybe the Jews wor save because they obey Jehovah directions.
16. Zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ maa lɛ nɛɛni dɔɔ ɣi-gaa-ziɛ ga ʋike niitiɛ ma te vaa ɣɛɛzu? (Wɛlɛ ɓalaa footei va)
16 What the lesson? The great tribulation will soon start, and it will be the worst time ever in human being life. When it start, people in the world will be confuse and scary. But Jehovah people will not be scary. We know Jehovah that our God. We will be brave because we know that “the time for [us] to be save near.” (Luke 21:28) We will continue to trust Jehovah, even when the United Nations attack us. Jehovah will use the angel dem to protect us and he will give us directions that will save us. How Jehovah will give us this direction dem? We not know yet. But maybe we will get this direction dem through our congregations. Maybe our congregations will be our “inner rooms,” where we will be safe. How we can prepare for the thing dem that will happen? We must draw more close to our brother and sister dem, and be ready to obey direction from Jehovah organization. Also, we must be convince that Jehovah directing his organization.—Heb. 10:24, 25; 13:17.
When we think about how Jehovah get power and he able to save us, it will help us to not be too scare of what will happen in the future (See paragraph 16)b
17. Zɛɓɛi da kɛɛ ga de gaa-nɛkpɛ maa zɔlɔwo Jehova ya?
17 Even though life wor not easy for the Jews in Babylon, but Jehovah comfort them. Jehovah will do the same thing for us. So no matter what happen in the future, continue to look to Jehovah for comfort. Yes, continue to get faith that he will forgive you and take care of you. Continue to make your hope strong. Remember, Jehovah that your God, so don’t be scary.
GUI 3 Our Strength, Our Hope, Our Confidence
a We change some name dem.
b WETIN THE PICTURE SAYING?: The small group of brother and sister dem come together. They convince that Jehovah get power and he able to protect his people no matter where they living on earth.
