33 He turns rivers into a desert

And springs of water into parched ground,+

114 When Israel went out of Egypt,+

The house of Jacob from a people speaking a foreign language,

 3 The sea saw it and fled;+

The Jordan turned back.+

15 I will devastate mountains and hills

And dry up all their vegetation.

I will turn rivers into islands*

And dry up reedy pools of water.+

 4 He rebukes the sea,+ and he dries it up;

And he makes all the rivers run dry.+

Baʹshan and Carʹmel wither,+

And the blossoms of Lebʹa·non wither.
