Happy to Work With People Wey Love Jehovah

THE name of my papa and mama na James and Jessie Sinclair. Around 1935, my papa and mama pack go the town wey dem dey call Bronx, for New York City. Dem come get one friend wey im name na Willie Sneddon. This man come from Scotland like my papa and mama. All of dem begin talk about their family the first time when dem see. This things happen before dem born me.

Willie na Jehovah Witness. My mama come tell am how im papa and im senior brother take die. E tell am sey when two of dem dey inside boat, their boat hit bomb for one water wey dem dey call North Sea. Na so two of dem take drink water die. Willie come tell am sey: “Your papa dey for hell!” My mama surprise because of wetin e talk. But na so my mama take start to dey learn the truth for Bible.

Wetin Willie talk make my mama vex because my mama know sey im papa na good person. Willie come tell am sey: “Your mind go come down if I tell you sey even Jesus go hell?” This one make my mama remember wetin dem teach dem for church. Dem tell dem sey when Jesus die, e stay hell for three days before God bring am back to life. So e come dey think, ‘If hell na place wey fire dey, and na there wicked people dey go, why Jesus go there?’ This one come make my mama want learn the truth. E come start to go meeting with Bronx Congregation. For 1940, my mama come baptize.

That time, dem no too dey tell papa and mama sey make dem dey study with their pikin. Na my papa dey take care of me when my mama go meeting or preaching. I dey around 2 years that time. Later, I come dey follow my mama go meeting. My mama get many Bible student and e no dey use preaching play at all. E even get one time when my mama dey study im student together because their house no far from each other. When I dey holiday, I dey follow am go preaching. This one help me learn many things from Bible and how to use am teach people.

When I dey small, I no too serious with wetin I dey learn from Bible. But when I dey around 12 years, I come be unbaptize publisher and since that time, I dey always go preaching. When I dey 16 years, I promise Jehovah for prayer sey I want use my life serve am. So for July 24, 1954 I come baptize for one convention for Toronto wey dey Canada.

WHEN I GO BETHEL

For my congregation that time, we get Bethelite and people wey don stay Bethel before. This brothers really help me. I like how dem dey talk and the way dem take dey explain Bible. Some of my teacher want make I go university, but wetin dey my mind na to go Bethel. I fill Bethel form for one convention for Toronto wey dey Canada. I still fill another one for 1955 for one convention wey we do for Yankee Stadium wey dey New York City. When I submit am, dem come invite me for September 19, 1955 to come dey serve for Bethel wey dey Brooklyn. Na 17 years I dey that time. The next day, I start to dey work for where dem dey bind (sew) book together for 117 Adams Street. I come dey work with one machine wey dem dey use for there. The machine wey I dey use dey arrange book wey get 32 page so that another machine go fit sew am.

I work for there for one month. Later, dem come carry me go Magazine Department because I sabi type. That time, we dey type address put for wetin dem dey call stencil (one small iron card). Na for people wey just start to get Awake! and Watchtower. After I come dey work for where dem dey call Shipping Department. Brother Klaus Jensen wey be the overseer for there come ask me one question. E ask me if I go like to dey follow one brother work. The brother dey use big motor carry carton of our book go different different place. E still dey carry bag of magazine go post office. Na from the post office dem dey send am go different different congregation for United State. Brother Jensen tell me sey na this kind work go good for me. I lekpa finish that time and my weight na 57 kg. The work make me strong. Brother Jensen really know wetin good for my body!

Na for Magazine Department dem dey write the magazine wey different congregation need. Na for Brooklyn dem dey print our book for different different language. I never hear about some of this language before. When dem print the book dem finish, dem go send am go different different place for the world. I happy sey our book dey reach those area. I no think sey I go ever travel go those area one day.

For 1961, dem come tell me sey make I dey work for Treasurer’s Office. Na Grant Suiter be the overseer for there. After some years, I come dey work for Nathan Knorr office. That time, na im dey direct the work wey Jehovah Witness dey do. E tell me sey one of the brother wey dey work for im office dey go Kingdom Ministry School. The brother go spend one month for the school and when e come back, e go dey work for Service Department. So dem sey make I start to dey do the work wey the brother dey do before. I come dey work with Don Adams for there. Na brother Don Adams be the person wey collect my Bethel form for 1955 convention. E get two other brothers wey dey work for there, their name na Robert Wallen and Charles Molohan. E pass 50 years wey the four of us take work together. All of dem love Jehovah and I happy to work with this kind people!​—Ps. 133:1.

For 1970, dem tell me sey I go dey travel go different different branch office. I dey travel every year or every two years and I dey spend some weeks there. That time dem dey call am zone visit. I dey visit Bethel family and people wey dey do missionary work to use Bible encourage dem. I still dey check branch record. I happy to see some of the people wey first graduate from Gilead School. And e sweet me sey dem stilll dey do their work well for the place wey Jehovah organization send dem go. Because of my work, I don visit country wey pass 90. Na big thing Jehovah do for me, and e really sweet me.

I SEE BETTER WIFE

All the Bethelite for Brooklyn dey different congregation for New York City. Na one congregation for Bronx I dey. The first congregation for there don plenty well well, and dem don split. The name of that first congregation come be Upper Bronx Congregation, and na that one I dey.

Around 1965, one Jehovah Witness family pack come the area wey Upper Bronx congregation dey. Dem come from Latvia, and na when dem dey south Bronx dem become Jehovah Witness. Their senior daughter wey im name na Livija start to dey pioneer when e finish secondary school. Later, e come go area where publisher no too dey to help dem. The name of the place wey e go na Massachusetts. I come dey write letter give am to tell am wetin dey happen for our congregation. The sister still dey write letter give me to tell me how im preaching work dey go for Boston area.

Later dem come make Livija special pioneer. But e still dey Livija mind to do more for Jehovah. So e come fill Bethel form and dem invite come Bethel for 1971. I happy well well when e come because e just be like sey Jehovah don answer my prayer. We marry for October 27, 1973 and na Brother Knorr give our wedding talk. I happy sey na im give the talk. Proverbs 18:22 talk sey: ‘Person wey see good wife don see better thing. And e don get favor from Jehovah.’ E don pass 40 years wey me and my wife dey Bethel. We still dey support the congregation wey dey Bronx.

I WORK WITH SOME ANOINTED BROTHERS

I happy well well to work with brother Knorr. E put all im body for Jehovah work and e no dey use people wey be missionary play at all. Dem send many missionary go different country. Many of dem come be the first Witness for there. For 1976, e pain me reach bone when Brother Knorr come dey sick. The name of the sickness wey e get na cancer. When e no come fit dey comot from bed again, e dey call me to come read for am. I dey read some of the book wey dem never print for am. Brother Knorr still tell me sey make I call Brother Frederick Franz come so that e go still listen when I dey read am. Na later I come know sey Brother Franz no dey see well. Na Brother Knorr dey read those books for am before.

Brother Knorr die for 1977. But the people wey know am and wey love am know sey, e no leave Jehovah. This one make their mind come down. (Rev. 2:10) After, na Brother Franz come dey direct our work.

That time, na secretary work I dey do for Brother Milton Henschel. Brother Henschel don work with Brother Knorr for many years. Brother Henschel come tell me sey I go dey help Brother Franz do anything wey e need. Before dem print any book, I go read am for Brother Franz. E get sharp brain, and e sabi put ear well for wetin dem read for am. Na December 1992 e die. I happy sey I help am when e dey alive.

Time dey fly no be small. I don spend 61 years for Bethel. My papa and mama no leave Jehovah before dem die. I dey wait for the time wey I go see dem again for paradise. (John 5:28, 29) To help God people for the whole world na better thing. And na still better thing to do Jehovah work with people wey love am. This world no fit give us anything wey better reach that one. Me and my wife go fit talk sey all the time wey we don spend for full-time service, na ‘the happiness wey Jehovah dey give dey protect us.’​—Neh. 8:10.

Make we no think sey if we no dey Jehovah organization, the work no go move. The truth be sey the work go always dey move. I dey happy, and na big thing for me to work with brothers and sisters wey really love Jehovah, and wey no dey take Jehovah work play. Many of the anointed brothers wey I work with don die. I thank Jehovah sey I follow all this kind people work for Bethel.
