18 Whenever Jehovah did raise up judges for them,+ Jehovah would be with the judge and save them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for Jehovah was moved to pity*+ over their groaning caused by those who oppressed them+ and those who were treating them abusively.

9 When the Israelites called to Jehovah for help,+ Jehovah raised up a savior to rescue the Israelites,+ Othʹni·el+ the son of Keʹnaz, the younger brother of Caʹleb.

15 Then the Israelites called to Jehovah for help,+ so Jehovah raised up for them a savior,+ Eʹhud+ the son of Geʹra, a Benʹja·min·ite+ who was left-handed.+ In time the Israelites sent tribute through him to Egʹlon the king of Moʹab.

11 Then Jehovah sent Jer·ub·baʹal+ and Beʹdan and Jephʹthah+ and Samuel+ and rescued you from the hand of the enemies all around you, so that you could live in security.+

4 In time Je·hoʹa·haz begged for the favor* of Jehovah, and Jehovah listened to him, for he had seen the oppression the king of Syria had inflicted on Israel.+ 5 So Jehovah provided Israel with a savior+ to free them from Syria’s grip, and the Israelites were able to dwell in their homes as before.*
